I was so impressed to received this complete set. To include jars as well. I compared with other products and this one was the best and overall price was the lowest. It works great and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product.

The media could not be loaded. TL;DR: A decent blender for the money. I've used this weekly for the past 4 years to blend smoothies including frozen fruit. It's finally given in.Does the trick just fine. Sometimes you have to stop it and use a spoon to mix things around so it doesn't just blend the bottom without circulating. This isn't something the $200+ blenders do much better, so that's alright. Just use more liquid or let your frozen stuff thaw a bit first. It's a bit loud, but really they all are.I haven't found a need for various speed settings, so I actually like that there's two buttons on this thing.Now for the video. It started smelling a bit and slowing down (may have been because a collision with a spoon...) so I expected it to be at the end of its life. As a curious engineer, i screwed it open to look inside. It's extremely simple (has to be for that price, try buying a single 650W DC motor for under $30), so the switch is connected directly to the motor. The motor is a brushed DC motor, which means it has this thing called a 'commutator' which wears out over time. Any commutator might spark a little bit which is normal. In my case, the commutator started degrading to the point that it sparked enough to create small flames, causing the burnt rubber smell. I was able to clean it up and get it to run properly again, but that's just for fun, this guy is not gonna get used again.If you're thinking 'a blender is just a big motor and the more expensive ones are more expensive for no reason', you're wrong. There's different types of motors like the brushless DC motor which are more expensive but have a much longer expected lifetime.This thing is engineered pretty well, and because it's so simple, it lasted 4 years of regular use.

On its third use it started to smell and when I unplugged and turned it over the bottom was smoking and plastic? pieces were coming out the bottom,(like another customer took pictures of) I was a bit busy making sure it wasnt going to start a fire.Normally I look at the total score for review to decide to purchase, if you are like me, this is not one to believe the total score. There are several reviews mentioning smoke and one with fire. Do NOT Buy it's not worth the risk of you getting one of the faulty ones.

This is a small blender that has more power than expected. Makes great shakes and smoothies in dedicated jars, and still has a traditional blender bowl for mayo or other drinks. Great buy. Would make a thoughtful graduation gift for taking to college or for apartment warming. Washes up well with quick rinse dishwasher cycle or a short soak in the sink. Parts all make sense.

This smoothie blender isn't too loud at all. It also has nice, big blades so it does a good job cutting up fruit, etc. Now, for the negatives: the blade and the screw on section should be all one unit. If you don't get it just right it spits out around the edges. I almost sent it back, but this is the 3rd brand I have tried and at least the sound is tolerable.
