"tough, sturdy tools that should last for years"
These Wessleydrill snap ring pliers are amazing. Admittedly, I'm not any kind of an expert on snap ring pliers, but I do know a little bit about amazing when I see it. These come in a solid case with metal clasps and each one has an assigned spot where it just fits...keeping things neat and organized. Unless you plan to keep them together in a roomy tool chest, locker or roll-around of some sort...keep the box or they will surely be lost over time. There are a dozen tools and 4 sizes in the set . I imagine they will fit the needs of any machinery up to a good sized truck. They are a little on the small side for heavy equipment, large hydraulic systems and the like. The tips run from 1.25mm up to 2.35mm by my caliper. When I first opened the box these came in, I thought: 1. They will take up too much room in the box for my needs. and 2. There are too many...I'll surely lose them and 3. How about my old ones...you know, the ones with one pliers and 3 different straight and bent noses? Oh-wait!! I lost those and the little noses years ago. These new ones have bright orange handles and black metal parts and really stand out. They have nice long handles with good leverage and have the most ingenious lever adjusting system I've seen. It has a Y-shaped groove in one side that allows the other handle to slide back in the leg of the Y so the tips can go past each other. The tip then slides back down the Y leg and is re-directed to the other arm of the Y. It ends up with the tips being together again, but if they were set for removing an inside snap ring, they are now set for outside ones. It took awhile to figure out how they work and to do it quick and smooth...but its' worth it. This makes them twice as handy to use. Some of my old sets you could switch over, but you had to remove-a screw and then replace it.These are tough, sturdy tools that should last for years. They are versatile and flexible, and should save time and trouble. I'm still impressed whenever I look at them and there is a straight, 90deg. and 45deg. tipped one of each size. All you have to do is grab the one you need.

Very cheaply made. Poor quality.

Will probably never need another one.
Snap ring pliers are something you don't need often, but when you do, you realize it would be nice to have them after you've tried forcing and/or twisting something open or loose and destroying it in the process using screwdrivers or pliers. I purchased a cheap 'universal' snap ring plier before with different tips, and any time I've tried to use it they never work, then I'm also dropping a losing a small spring or something that goes in the set. These work both ways; you use the slots in them to slide the tips around each other so you can use it to contract as well as expand. I wish it had some more ability to expand though, but for all size c or e clips, you typically only need to open it up just a bit, which this is able to do. Another big plus is the case, each set snaps into its spot so they retain their location correctly. The case is above average for blow molded cases, and it also has metal clasps which is another benefit. This is a very nice set. If they had some more adjust-ability I'd probably give them 5 stars, or if they were a little cheaper. They're not name brand, although the price seems close to name brandish.

Great set
This is a complete set of snap ring pliers, easy to use and comes with a great storage case so you can keep them all in one place. Nice quality for the price.

Not very well made
I liked the idea of having a set of ring pliers - my "universal" ones aren't quite as sturdy as a good single pair and take time to switch over the points to change sizes. This set comes in a reasonable lightweight case and has all the various basic configurations and sizes ready to use - each one reversible for inside/outside use buy moving the pivot with a thumb screw.Handles are fine, actual operation is ok.Unfortunately, the tips are poorly ground - some worse than others - the four shown are just pulled at random from the set - ground at an angle, uneven lengths and poorly matched, they work some for some things but are far from precision - the angles on some of the pins prevents them from being used for both inside and outside because of the angle - the ring pops off the pin.Snap ring pliers aren't usually super precise and generally don't need to be but a few of these are pushing the limit on usability.

Great set!
Very surprised how well these are made. These come in a nice blow molded case. Very well constructed and comes with almost any configuration I could use. Highly recommend.

The set I should have ordered
I already have a small set of snap ring pliers and every time I try to use them it's been a challenge. More often than not I didn't have a set of pliers with small enough pins for the snap rings I was working on. This set has cured that issue and more. First of all the set is nicely organized in the storage case by the pin size. Next for each pin size you have all the possible configurations of angles to reach the snap rings in question. Last but not least each set of pliers is designed for compression or expansion style snap rings and can be switched between without having to take the tool apart. This is the first time I have seen this feature and it works perfectly. This is without a doubt the set of snap ring pliers I should have ordered in the first place.

Good not great.
As others have pointed out the tips aren't straight. They could be made more precise. The other thing is there are no instructions how to reverse them. Seems simple at first but I had to put on loops to figure it out. The knob has to be in a certain position depending if you want then to be internal or external. Despite the tips being crooked on some I think they will still work on most snap rings. If you are going to use these once in a while like me they will be fine. If you need precision for daily use I would look elsewhere.
