I started out learning how to lock pick and progressed into an interest in all locks and how they work. If you are looking for a solid Schlage lockout key this works perfectly. There really isn't much more to say if you need it this will work well for you!

I have wanted some lockout keys for a while but, really don't have a situation other than just in case that I might need them. Once I saw these I got this one and a quikset one, and they both work fantastically. Easy to push in, easy to remove. I'd like to point out that some people often complain about the fact that there is nothing holding the two pieces together, which makes difficult for carrying. However, some people also comment that it's difficult to push both pieces into the lock at the same time, and I'd like to clarify that when trying to disable, all you need to do is push in the locking part, no need for the removal tool. Then, when needed to remove, just push the removal tool in, pinch both, pull out. Super easy.

This works exactly as described. It's easy to insert and remove from SC keyway locks. It will work in 5 or 6 pin cores, as well. Because the tip pushes pin 5 up all the way, it's unlikely the lock could be picked without removing the blocker first.Simple. Straightforward. Effective.

Very simple solution that gets a tenant's attention. Easy to use and remove. A great idea! Even my locksmith likes it.

Lockout key for Schlage locks, fits as expected. If you are unfamiliar with a lockout key, the premise is to keep a key holder from gaining access to a lock. Simply insert the barbed section into the key-way which will cause the pins to drop behind the barb, thus preventing removal without lifting the pins using the remaining ramped portion of the lockout key. Once the main section is inserted both the barb and key can be removed allowing access to the lock again.

If you're looking to temporarily disable access to a door, the bottom half can be inserted and cannot be removed without the top half. The shape of the hook prevents the bottom from being pulled out, while preventing another working key from being inserted. These can be used similar to a Lock Out Tag Out scheme to prevent someone from mistakenly walking in on a wet floor. This example is made from a quality blank and works perfectly to protect my freshly mopped floors by unassuming family members.

This lockout key for Schlage locks worked perfectly for my uses. It's a well-made device that fits most of the Schlage locks perfectly. I think the only thing missing is instructions, but it's not a deal breaker.

Works exactly as described. I use this to prevent anyone from using a door I may be working near and do not want accidently opened. Even with the correct key, the lock can't be used from the outside without first removing this lockout key.
