Compact and great bit of kit.
It's a great piece of kit for the money and does exactly what I wanted. Very easy to use - just "plug and play". It loads up it's own driver to your computer then your good to go - it really is that simple to use.

A brilliant device. I have found that I sometimes have problems with a few DVDs using my internal DVD drive, but not with this. Really reliable.

Good
Good to have when your computer doesn't come. With a cd drive however it can't read certain CDs which is frustrating

Product didnt work
Rubbish and cheap. Bought this product to accompany computer build so didn't use straightaway. It was for occasional use only that's why I didn't buy a build in version. Opened for the first time and plugged in - made a whirring noise then loud grating noise and stopped then got a conflict/corrupt message on the computer. Typical, looked at the bought date and out of 30 days send back warrenty so looks like no chance of a refund. Do I really want to send it back to China?

You get what you pay for
Freezes during playback...wish I'd taken more notice of the negative reviews...

Needs more Power!
The drive works - to a point. Ideally, you need a dual power cable or extension. Then you can plug the drive in to two USB sockets thereby providing it with more power. Without this you will find watching DVD's etc becomes stuttery. As software, I recommend VLC Media Player, this needs to be the one downloaded from their website, not the one from the Windows store. As far as I could establish none of the free DVD players in the Windows store support the playback of commercial DVD discs.
