The media could not be loaded.  This is such a gorgeous book destined for display in my house. The outside is just as beautiful as the inside. It is a bit heavy but not unmanageable. The ink pops off the pages and does the artist justice. Anyone interested in this book should stop inquiring and make the plunge. You won’t regret it.

I purchased this book so that we could use it for wall art. I almost couldn't bring myself to remove pages. But after a few months, we did remove some pages to be framed. Since we were very careful in the removal of the pages, this will continue to be a coffee table book as well. The detail of the prints is amazing!

Full color oversized book is beautiful! This book has minimal text and MANY full-page portraits of flowers. The pages are not glossy, but are a beautiful matte. The book is heavy, and almost 2.25" thick. Anyone that stops over likes to look at these beautiful pictures. I have a few other books that depict Redoute's flowers, but this book is by far the best! I have included a picture of an 8.5" X 11" sheet of paper on top of the open book to show how large the pages are. I highly recommend this book. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Wow! This has a lot to it! Beautiful pictures! Only downside is how some of it is printed. Some of the pictures could have had more vivid colors. But nonetheless it still a beautiful book!

Very large book and full of colorful illustrations. This is a wonderful book for identifying plants and provides a beautiful appreciation of detail. If you like to look at, draw, paint, or grow flowers, this book is a very nice reference work. It's big and can be a Coffee Table book, but it isn't too big to hold and enjoy.

This book is unbelievably wonderful. I’m a amateur botanical artist and love books like this one. I believe that this is the best book yet in my library in regards to reading and viewing flowers. Thanks for the one day shipping!

This book is a beautiful visual experience. It's very large -- even to an unwieldy degree, possibly. You'd need a big coffee table to display it there!

Hermoso libro con muy hermosas imágenes de flores. Redouté tiene un trazo muy fino en sus ilustraciones por lo que un libro tan grande como este es necesario. El libro tiene unas dimensiones de 35.3 x 26 x 5.1 cm y 607 páginas, pesando en total 4.15 Kg.Al inicio se describe la vida y trabajos de Redouté, posteriormente las imágenes se dividen en 3 grandes secciones: "The Lilies" (colección de placas incompleta, incluye 227 de 486 aproximadamente), "The Roses" (Colección completa de 169 placas) y "Selection of the most beautiful flowers" (Colección completa de 143 placas).

O livro é muito bem editado com imagens muito bonitas.

An amazing publication! I lusted after this book for several months before buying it. As others have noted, it is large and heavy - a luxurious experience in itself to hold and flip through the beautiful full-page images. There is an introductory essay that offers an overview of French botanical illustrators and specifically the work of Pierre-Joseph Redouté. To anyone who loves flowers, floral art, botanical drawing or French botanical history and gardens, this is an amazing find. The only thing better would be to see the originals.
