EVDANCE EV Charger 7kw Type 2, Electric Car Charger Cable with Commando Plug

Works really well. Used at 16A setting on 16A commando socket adapted to 32A. Pleased so far and 3.6kw is fine for overnight charging. Simple to use hasn't tripped the 16A b-curve mcb which is good.

Absolutely fantastic gadget well worth the money don't need to spend all that money on fancy one's with apps and WiFi It tells you everything you need to know, how long it's been plugged in, how much kWh you have used and it's your car that tells you how long in hours and minutes it will take you to charge to what % percentage you require, so if you need to you can use the delay time setting to get the cheapest rate at night time

Purchased about a year ago and very pleased with the charger. A local electrician installed the 32A socket for us (very reaosnable cost), after which setting up the charger itself took about 3 minutes. Very easy to use, we control it via the setting in our car. All so much simpler to organise and use than an expensive hard wired setup. After some months we noticed that sometimes charging stopped for no obvious reason. Gradually this got worse and we found that we culd only get it to work reliably by reducing the current to 24A (5kw). We contacted the EV customer service and after a few email questions to check various things (car setting, handle temperature etc) they advised us that they would send a replacement, whihc arrived a day or so later. Took 5 minutes to swop over (why does anyone have a hard wired one at home?) and we are up and running again at full speed. So, very happy with the charger and even more impressed with the customer support.

Used at home in a 32A socket, but also when visiting family, using various adaptors (in France one can charge at 16A in most sockets, and 20A in others, so faster than granny charger). I find it really useful and versatile. The bag is a plus for storage. The reason a knocked a star of it, is that the kWh used are reset at each disconnection of the car, so if you interrupt the charge (to run an errand for example) then when you come back and reconnect, it will start again at 0, instead of continuing the count, so if you monitor the power used, you need to remember to make a note of the value before you plug the car back in. This is minor really.

I did have a 13a granny charger but have been using this for 6 months now, I use a 13a adapter to plug it into an external socket on a 40a smart switch (tried 16a, 20a switches, they overheat and cut power). It has worked perfectly in all weathers. It didn't overheat during the summer but I mainly charge overnight on the cheap rate. I set it to 12a and it remembers, I don't use the timer because of the smart switch. Very easy to use after a quick scan of the instructions to set the amps level then just plugged in and walked away. I will eventually fit a 32a outlet on it own circuit and charge twice as fast. Note, the 13a charger only chaged at 1.8kwh, this gets to 2.9kwh

Excellent item and good value

Took ages to decide what to buy, this is just the job, plugged in and worked straight away.. I need to get a small consumer unit upgrade to allow 32amp which is expected but currently using on 16amp breaker and working grand at 3kw. Once I have the right breaker I’ll use at 32amp

It’s early days, however, it does what it says on the box. I recently purchased an MG HS PHEV. The car controls the charging, and stops it, when the battery is full. To charge, I switch on the charger set to 32 amps, plug the cable into the car, and charging commences. When the battery is charged, I switch off the charger and disconnect the cable from the car, it really is that easy. I get 75 miles battery range, and in HEV mode I’m getting 115mpg, and so far, over 4 months I’ve used 26L of petrol. Happy days.
