Subscription pricey but worthwhile for peace of mind and accuracy when compared to other trackers.
I bought a tracker for our kitten that was sold as a cat tracker but I started to notice it was saying he was in areas miles from where we live which was impossible. When I looked into this further I found that they should not be used for cats so did a bit more research and found Tractive to be the gold standard tracker for cats. I'm really worried about our little boy crossing the road behind our house and this tracker has a function that allows you to set virtual 'fences' so that you get alerts if they go within that area. I know it won't stop our boy going there but it settles my mind knowing that he is not going across the road very often. Our boy is quite wee at almost 1yr old and I would say that is my only gripe with this tracker as it is quite bulky. It does however have a good rechargable battery life and we have only needed to charge it once since we got it around 1-2 weeks ago. We choose to remove it when he comes in at night for comfort but to be fair although bulky he actually doesn't seem to mind at all. I have found this tracker to be extremely accurate and have actually done some tests to check and it is pretty spot on. I hate having to pay another subscription but it is worth it for peace of mind as Salem is a VERY loved wee boy. It also has helpful features monitoring health and the leaderboard and other cat info is good fun. I bought a couple of extra rubber covers but actually the one that come with it seems pretty durable. It was also easy to set up and was compatible with my husband and I's android/Samsung phone sand my kids iphones. I feel price wise this is a good quality product but the subscription prices are a rubbish. Overall however, I would purchase this again for peace of mind and accuracy alone.

Pretty good at tracking but not precise .
Bought this as my cat suddenly started staying out all night in summer, hes is neutured I had one cat went missing for a month & i didnt want to go through the heartbreak of not knowing if he's dead or alive again. This does give piecebof mind that I guess I could find him should anythjng happen. Now I've got used to it I realise it's a bit slow at tracking Tommy's movement, by a minute . But I can see where he is , and he had regular routes, a creature of habit and really pleased he rarely crosses a road . Always within the back to back gardens in the block . It does need charging every 2 or 3 days depending on how much you live track. In the beginning had to charge every day as constantly tracking drains the battery, but now the novelty has worn off, or maybe as he's not out late now summer is over i dont track much . Summer was a worry as he suddenly started living it up and staying out untill early hours . Just chasing field mice. Funny to watch him running in circles around the same gardens night after night. The light is good to spot him if hes within eye distance , you can turn it on & off from your mobile. However the sound is useless , I can't hear it unless I literally hold it against my ear and I don't have hearing problems. You can set safe zones , which if he leaves it, you get a notification. The collar it comes with and the silicone holder are really good. Not had any problems with them coming off. I remove it in the night and put it on charge for a top up and have had it 6 months and still silicone holder hasn't stretched as some reviews say. So overall I'm pleased with it and would highly recommend for peace of mind . So easy to set up too..

Peace of mind
Really happy with the purchase, this is our third cat tracker. We have upgraded from Apple tags which do not allow accurate tracking living in a rural environment. The tracking app is very good and allows us to see where our boys are at anytime. It amazed us just how far they roam, hunting in the fields around our house. The gps sim subscription does seem very expensive but we don’t smoke or drink and peace of mind is so worth it. I still do not understand the virtual fence and how to set it up effectively but that would require reading the instructions. Very easy to set up via the app and doesn’t seem to inhibit the cats movements. Battery life isn’t brilliant 2 days to 3 days so monitoring battery status is important as when it does go flat you lose sight of where the cats are. And such as everything nowadays you need a smart phone for full functionality.

£120 paid upfront for subscription!!
Great product, not happy that it wasn’t disclosed that you have to pay a year subscription UPFRONT! £120 pounds later I can see my cat and track his health and sleep patterns. Supplier should make this more clear.

Battery and subscription
The GPS works well and it's very interesting to know where my cat goes, the truth is that it has given me a lot of peace of mind. There are two things that I see wrong. The first is that when you buy a second or more GPS you have to pay a separate subscription for each GPS, in my case I have three cats and I would have to pay three individual subscriptions and we are talking about almost £300 a year, it seems very bad to me that there is no premium or family plan for multiple pets. The second thing I don't like is the battery capacity, you have to charge the GPS every two/three days, charging it once a week for me would be perfect but it is not the case. Is it a product that I recommend? Yes but keep these factors in mind

Tracker
Brilliant. I know where my cat is at all times. If the collar comes off then I can use the radar to find it. Minute to minute detail. Virtual fence is great. If he goes out of that zone, I get an alert on my phone. Only issue is battery life is short.

Hard to go back to not knowing where my cat is
I have an outdoor/indoor cat so been trialing it for the past 4 months or so and I can’t see myself going back to not having it (that’s how they get you I guess). Despite not being 100% accurate in the location pin point, because of this tracker I was able to find out that my cat got stuck in someone else’s garden over the summer. My favourite added feature is the sound and light activation which makes it easier to spot my cat from a far in darker nights.

Can be used on humans too.....
It works in semi rural area, has battery saving mode, simple to use, signal quality is good and I even kept track of him whilst not being at home. Yes I had to pay a subscription but for the peace of mind, it was worth the premium package which was under £200 for 2 years. So far it has stayed attached to the cat. The cat snuck out today, pitch black morning, saw him on the app, as I got closer, I get to. Activate a light mode and a sound mode to light up the tracker and made a noise so I could see him playing hide and seek in the bushes, not far from home. Soon as he realised he was spotted, he happily trotted over to follow me home. The light and sound mode is best used when closer to the tracker or it will waste battery. Plus if they lose the collar with tag, you can always retrieve it back due to the light and sound function. The only downside and why it didn't get 5 star is the battery life. I get a good 2-3 days usage before it needs charging again but that is due to me always curious and switching on live tracking when he's out and about rather than leave him be and look on the history later to see where he has been. The other downside is the size. It's fine for a small westie type size dog but I find it a bit bulky for a cat. My cat did have to get used to wearing it, I left it on the cat when he was indoors to get used to walking with it and he managed to remove it until I had to tighten the collar and adjust the strength of the lock release mechanism on the collar provided. It does take the cat a few days to get used to bulky tracker around his neck. If I had a maine coon cat then it wouldn't look so out of place with their extra fluff and extra bigger size.

Tres bien

Would purchase again
It is very convenient and gives me peace of mind. I have the older model and I will say the sound could be louder and it’s not very accurate but it is enough to give you an idea of where your pet is.

Would've given 0 stars if possible.
I feel very cheated. I purchased the tractive cat collar on amazon. On the website, I made sure to check, it states "monthly subscription starting 4.50" and I did more research on it and saw some prices go up to 6-10 euros on average. I know 6 euros a month adds up, but it's only 6 euros a month and I can afford that just fine, but then I go to set the account up, all is fine and well, I wanted the 6 euro A MONTH for 5 years premium plan, and then it says "pay €360 😊" I don't have 360 euros on me to spend for a 5 year subscription?? If it was in monthly increments under some contract that 'after 2 months you cannot unsubscribe until contract is over or there will be a termination fee' yada yada, I'd be like "yeah, cool, makes sense". But 360 off the bat??? Everywhere I looked it said the GPS subscription was monthly. This is an absolute joke. I feel so horribly cheated. I now have, a collar that's useless, wasted money, and a horrible experience and feeling. This is blatant explotation of "pay small monthly fee" and then you get the product and expect people to go "oh.. well I already have the collar I spent an unfair amount of money on, and love my furry friend so I might as well.."
