Very useful at an elementary/middle school.
So far I really like it. I've been using it to coach and referee games for our kids at an elementary/middle school. The kids are obsessed with it every time I use it, because the whistle sounds almost identical to our fire alarms. (So thus they all want to press the button and scare their friends. Kid logic.)As others have said, this thing is loud and will hurt someone's ears if you point it at them from too close. For this reason I tend to point it downwards or straight upwards when using it, and the kids hear it just fine. I enjoy having the three different tones and I'm glad I did. We have student referees who use regular whistles, so I can change the tone of the electric whistle and get everyone's attention if I need it.Overall this whistle is very nice. Haven't had any issues with the button sticking as some reviewers have complained about.

Not loud enough for referee work
The Windsor came up as a "top rated" electronic whistle for referees. I don't know what referee rated this but it is in no way loud enough.I referee volleyball, and in this COVID world, we are being asked to wear masks -- hard to blow a whistle with a mask on. So moving to electronic whistles. I typically use Acme Tornados, or Fox 40s on the stand. Loud enough to hurt my ears without hearing protection. Loud enough for a gym full of screaming teenage girls to hear. When the referee site I saw recommended the Windsor, I bought one, especially as the Fox 40s were sold out. I got it and tested it at home with my wife. Stood outdoors, nobody and no noise around. She clearly heard the mouth-blown whistle, but had a hard time hearing the Windsor electronic whistle, even when pointed directly at her. This was without a gym full of cheering players.A quick comparison of ratings. The Windsor is rated at 105db, the Fox 40 at 125dB. If I recall my high school physics, the extra 20 dB translates to 100 times the power. Yeah, I know that is not exact, and I cannot recall how sound is measured, but it serves to show that the Fox 40 is a lot louder. My association is going to place a bulk order for Fox 40s, and I will wait for that to come in. I am returning the Windsor -- thank you, Amazon Prime, for such an easy return process. For people using this as a teacher or dog training or whatever, this may be loud enough. It is not for my work as a referee.

A much louder teacher voice!
One of my teacher friends got me this to gather in my class from the gym. I use just one of the tones because the others are extremely high pitched. But I like the option of switching tones if there was ever a real emergency. My students have learned that one blast from my whistle means stop and look, and three blasts mean it's time to clean up and line up. It has saved my voice. It is way better than a regular whistle. I don't have to put my mouth on it. I have had mine for 3 years, and I think I just had to change the battery once so far.

Great for School!
I use this whistle for lunch duty at a Jr. High. It’s loud enough for a cafeteria full of 180 students. Teachers keep borrowing it because it works so well. I’ve dropped it a few times, and it has not broke. So far so good!

but it's a great signal for attention
I use this in my classroom every day. I put it in my pocket to mute, but it's a great signal for attention. Then I use it outside as a whistle during recess. I wish I had found this tool earlier!

Holy loud
This purchase began as a joke about "whistling at guys going by".I will tell you, if you use this to whistle at ANYONE within a couple miles, they WILL notice.Very, very loud.Seems like good quality, it's withstood quite a bit of joking and horsing around, though I've only had it a short time. It's not exactly what I was expecting, but it's definitely going to get the job done.

This was needed!
I work outside with CDL trucks for there exams. Since we are wearing mask now this definitely helps with not having to remove my mask to blow on a whistle. I also use it when I’m walking as an extra security measure. All 3 of the whistle tones are very loud. Great product. Thanks

I bought this for my son as he coaches hockey ...
I bought this for my son as he coaches hockey. He likes the choice of tone especially when umpiring tournaments. He does not use it for the primary age sides as the sound is very pricing when inside the sports hall.

Will be great for hygienic gym class and creating future demand for the hearing aid industry
Took a while to arrive, but hey, Covid. Of course, as soon as I got it, my local school board announed gym class won't be happening, but it'll still be good for when all this is over. No more kindergarteners grabbing the whistle while I'm talking to another kid and blowing on it (that's always been gross). Works very well, seems sturdy enough to handle being lugged around in my clipboard case. VERY loud. So loud that I have to muffle the sound by placing my other hand over the end to avoid hurting my own ears. I might end up taping a cotton ball or something to the speaker end, otherwise I'll have to worry about my students getting tinnitus too. Until then, this is a two-handed device. Still though, it's a battery operated whistle that won't spew germs around at my students at high speeds. We're good :).
