The aid plate works well and it's very useful with thinner pieces. I also make use of the rounding corners with different diameters. The scissors are sharp and a nice addition.

Not bad. I’m glad it works with the larger diamond punches. I was a little worried they’d be too thick to fit inside the narrow slot/channel on it. They fit just fine. I think they’re 5 mm chisels. I had another punch aid made from plastic that was too narrow to fit even the smaller chisels. With this one, you should be fine

Works exactly as intended. The engraved markings is a double edged sword… they won’t wear out but they can mark the leather.

I love this tool for leatherworking. I use the slot to hold the leather down when removing pricking irons This helps to prevent stretching the leather when. I also use the rounded edges when trimming / rounding corners of stitched leather. Each corner has a different radius. Quite the handy tool to have around. It's always within reach.

Yes, it is simply a flat piece of metal. Yet it does its job. It is thick enough to create well-defined easily followed by a blade. The numbers are well-marked.

Metal is flat. Markings etched and clear. Screw threads are clean. The handle is aluminum. I don't like the two different metals because of galvanic corrosion concerns. The edges are roughly tooled and not round, however they are deburred. It can mark the leather if not kept perfectly flat the whole time while using it. This will work for several projects but might be a little risky for finer projects, especially with fine leather. I think 3 stars is fair for the handle being made of an incompatible material corrosion wise. It is common knowledge aluminum corrodes stainless steel. And that the fit and finish is at the point that it can make the leather without too much effort requiring extra care when using it for anything that is meant for show.

I’ve been very pleased with this little gadget. The different rounded corners are nice for adding radiuses to corners. The thing I like most is I use it to hold the leather down when removing my diamond chisel after each punch. Rather than fighting to get it out this makes it much easier and faster. Wasn’t expecting much for the price, but have found it to be a great addition to my work bench. You can take the little threaded handle out and swap sides which is also very nice. It’s made of steel and not aluminum which I appreciate.
