took a star off because the handle came off. It didn't break and I could snap it back in if I could trust it, but I don't. In fairness, I DID put a big group 29 marine battery in it! I agree with the reviewer who said that for its price point it should have a better way to secure the top to the bottom. The bottom section does have handles on each end to lift from, which I HIGHLY recommend. Don't trust the handle! Also know that the switch is ONLY for showing the voltage in the battery. It does NOT switch the boxes outside terminals on and off! Those are on all the time unless you remove the lid and disconnect at least one of the battery terminals. For those who may question the ventilation while the battery is being charged, no need! There are six large vents built into the tops mold, so this won't be an issue, even when the top is secured down tight! The wiring and components comes ready to go and seems to be of good quality.6/5/24Edit: After seeing my 3 star review, Garfatolrv reached out and asked me to contact me about my concerns. They stated that they want to insure their customers were happy. I explained that my handle had popped off, but it didn't break! I told them I wasn't going to reinstall it because the handles on each end were much more stable. I DO have the largest, heaviest (group 29) battery that will fit in that box, so a smaller battery may not be a issue with that handle. However, I DID recommend that they not use a handle going forward because.1. The fixed handles on each end are far more strong and there is two points to lift from instead of one.2. The risk of what could happen if the handle comes off while lifting or carrying the box and battery just isn't worth the risk.I truly believe that this company is far more concerned customer satisfaction and safety than how many stars they get. I'm very impressed with their promptness and concern so I have no problem in moving this product/company from 3 to 5 stars!!!

Older SLA batteries are bulky and need venting, but although I am switching over to Lifepo4 I still have some older SLA batteries and this is good for them. I wish it had a SAE quick connect port but it was easy to drill a hole and add one, and everything else I need was there. Plenty of room for extra add-ons if you need them, like a higher capacity fuse. Handle makes carrying big battery down to the dock easy.

I got this to carry an older Bass Pro LA battery for my trolling motor. This box is great for that. The external posts and voltmeter are very handy. It is a very large box, but so is my battery. As others have observed, the handle shouldn't be trusted with a heavy battery. It is also good to know that the on/off switch only shuts of the volt meter, not the posts. They will still be energized. This is a good battery box that does more than I need it to at the present time, but I'm sure I will evolve into it.

I use this on my cruiser boat, for auxiliary power. It is great for a multitude of 12 volt use. I also like that I can easily attach my solar to the large posts and keep it maintained. The 12 volt outlets are all sealed really well and the volt meter is a great accessory. Everything about this battery box is really good and I like it a lot.

I put this on my big fishing kayak and I love it I can run all sorts of gizmos off of it and that's really the name of the kayak fishing game right now is how many gizmos can you have on your boat.

This will do the job, but I am not happy this device has no latch and only a strap. For this price you probably want to get your own latches or something else.I recommend this product.
