My all-time favorite astrology book
Amazon tells me I ordered this book all the way back in 2007, and at the time I remember that it helped me achieve what I would call a level of synthesis when doing chart interpretation (originally read during Saturn's transit of my 12th house). Like everything suddenly clicked for me when I read this book. Voila... magic.I have been a full time practicing astrologer now for over 10 years (tarot reader too) and recently started revisiting this book (in an effort to see what physical books are still worth keeping on my shelf). And I am still blown away by this book. It's still my all time #1 favorite, and re-reading it again now, 18 years later (a nodal cycle) brings forth layer upon layer of further understanding. I should find Stephen Arroyo's chart because he is my mentor, even if I never met him.

Great astrology read
I was so excited to get this. I’d heard the author wrote good astrology books and they were right.

Insights
Stephen Arroyo has become my favorite writer on astrology. He takes the topic at issue a step further than the general teachings without loosing the reader in a sea of abstraction. This book in particular helped me readjust my attitude to the socalled ‘inharmonious’ aspects which Arroyo instead prefer to call ‘dynamic and challenging’ aspects, because the experience of these aspects often depends on our willingness to learn from them. The greatest joy can come from them when one learns to deal with the energies in play.Uranus, Neptune and Pluto has an essential role in this book. Arroyo incourage us to view them as players in a tranformative process. Uranus as an urge toward freedom from the old (Saturn). Neptune dissolving the old. And Pluto the transfomation into a new form (metamorphosis). This way Arroyo establishes a very positve attitude towards ones birthchart as a map of a romantic story of personal developement that has the possibility to play out. The dealing with old karma and the establishment of a new mode for the next life.I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in personal developement using astrology as a method.

Astrology, Karma & Transformation by Stephen Arroyo
This book takes a positive, helpful view of the topic of karma as it can be understood through astrology. There is a particular focus on the outer planets, including a description of their aspects and transits. In each section, Arroyo moves from the general concepts to a more specific cook-book listing of the planets. He discusses karmic relationships through analyzing synastry and progressions, and includes a special chapter on the Ascendant and Midheaven axes. Arroyo refers to Edgar Cayce's view of reincarnation and planetary influences on a particular incarnation. This book provides an exceptionally accessible viewpoint, in the sense that it approaches karma as patterns to be recognized through the astrological counseling process, rather than encouraging specious speculation about specific past lives. A book recommended for astrologers who seek to include an evolutionary spiritual element in their style of interpretation without sounding like Madame Lazonga.

Good book for beginners and all astrologers
Not gonna lie, haven't finished and didn't read it linearly but it was spot on in describing what I went and was going through with 1stSaturn return directly followed by 12th house transit and currently in 1st house. Read that in my Aunt's house, she wouldn't part with the book which showed me further how valuable it was and then I saw Amazon recommended it for me and took it as a sign.

Great Book, Great Author, One Small Complaint
This book, like all of Arroyo's astrology books, is incredibly insightful and should be read by every astrologer (though it's probably best to tackle at the intermediate level rather than as a beginner). I don't share the author's take on every topic, but he is one of my favorite astrologers to read and I always benefit from his writing. He has made me a better astrologer in so many ways. My only real complaint is that Arroyo often skips a lot of information, saying the content has already been adequately covered by other authors, and including footnotes with their books and pamphlets. Since the book was first published in the 70's, a lot of those books/pamphlets are out of print and tough to find. This can leave some pretty big holes that are hard to fill more than 30 years later. In any case, this book (ALL of Arroyo's books) should be on every astrologer's shelf; whether your style is similar to his or completely different, you will definitely grow as an astrologer.

Full of useful information -
This book goes in depth into the world of Astrology. The title explains it all. It seems to focus a tad bit more on the Astrology and Birth Charts, Planetary Symbols, etc. It is very well written. I would recommend this for someone who has a deep interest in the topics discussed in the title. I borrowed it to a friend who isn't very focused on these types of books and she couldn't keep interested in it. It is a very great book for an awesome price, fast shipping, neat packaging, and I am very happy with it.

A classic
This book has star quality, deeply thoughtful insights which are presented in an engaging, easy-to-read way. It isn't cookie-cutter, so those who are looking to pop it open and find a specific paragraph on a planetary placement may not be able to breeze through and find a quick-fix answer. Rather, this is something you want to savor, pondering over and over again the valuable tidbits and insight into the psyche. I highly recommend this book. It suits the needs of astrologers and students alike!
