Very noice! Cleans off the final areas without using the sander unnecessarily and without sanding too much. Just what I needed and does what it says. Perfect. Doesn't need much pressure either, good grip and feels solid. I feel those complaining about u events may not realize their wood is slightly uneven. This is a straight blade.

I bought one of these that looked exactly the same as this one, which broke almost as soon as I began using it. This one has held up perfectly and is a really effective heavy-duty paint scraper. Indispensible tool.

I have a bunch of 7" baseboard all around my 125 year old house that's been painted over a dozen or more times, with older base coats that were, I'm sure, lead-based. I was going to use messy strippers to take the old paint off and get it down to bare wood again while refinishing one of our hallways. On a whim, I pulled this guy out - which I originally bought to refinish some exterior window sills - and gave it a shot. This thing works more effectively than any planer I've ever used. Literally got me down to bare wood on a full 8ft section of 7" tall, 7/8" thick baseboard in a matter of 4-5 minutes. I'm adding a picture to this review of a smaller section I tackled so you can see the original paint layers on the door casing, and the baseboard, that was after a single pass with this tool, and less than one minute's work. If you need to strip paint off wood, get down to bare wood, I cannot recommend this tool enough. Super easy to use, convenient and comfortable ball handle, and the shape makes it easy to apply easy, equal pressure for consistent results. Our hallway turned out amazing, and I can't wait to tackle some other interior projects around the house! I'm just hoping the replacement blades are easy to source, though the blades seem to last, I've done 150-200ft of baseboards and casings at this point and it's still doing the job effectively on the original blade. This is one of the best tools I've bought in a long time!

I have been obsessively watching reels on furniture flipping and decided I was READY!!! Most of the flippers I see use some type of carbine scraper. I ordered this one based on one of their suggestions. Here is my review: Pros: Was able to effectively remove most of the paint from a wood dresser in a fraction of the time and mess of using chemical stripper. Was easy to use even though I’m not very physically strong. Cons: Made a noise similar to fingernails on a chalkboard!!! Gouged the wood in a few places if I tilted it at all (which is definitely user error rather than a tools issue however I’m pretty sure very few people would be able to learn how to use this without having any issues). Overall: I highly recommend this tool! (Just know, there’s a learning curve!)

I LOVE this scraper. I'm working on a furniture refinishing project and needed to strip 100 year old stain and varnish. This has worked beautifully, and significantly better than chemical stripper. No chemicals, no fumes, no issues. It has been amazing to be able to work on the project indoors without needing ventilation (for this step, at least). This is ideal for large, flat surfaces and can do some damage if you use too much pressure, at an angle, or try to scrape small, detailed areas. The blade is sharp, the handle is comfortable. I ended up unhappy with my first new coat of stain, and I used this again to remove it quickly, before it had even fully dried. Excellent value for the cost, in my opinion-- I stripped an entire furniture piece with it and the blade doesn't seem to have dulled at all. Easy to wipe clean periodically during the process. It's surprisingly lightweight, but effective. Honestly can't think of a basic tool I've been this happy with for a long time.

Aaaaaammmmmmaaaazing! I’ve been refinishing, pulling carpet and carpet glue for a year in our home. I wish I would have purchased this sooner. It takes thick glue off like nothing else!! It’s sturdy, dense and works GREAT! Great blade, great tool.
