quick and easy
I keep this near my computer to make fast entry and speed things up. I don't use it for point of sale or store work, just my home computer. I am sure this will do much more than what I do with it. It is a small lightweight unit. Just point and shoot. My old Dell matched up to it right away. Rechargeable battery.

Inexpensive and effective
I've had a weakness for Barcode scanners since LONG ago, ever since I found where I could get a free one (just after 2000), and, with a tiny hardware tweak, use it however I liked. (I started scanning my books to create a library database, my groceries to keep a Pantry inventory, etc. Not terribly practical, but fun.) Then, about 10 years or so ago, the company I work for had to install Barcode readers for an industry level initiative. Well, ever since then I've had the habit of picking up new/interesting ones when I see them. So, this one (OBZ Bluetooth Barcode Scanner with LCD Screen Display) -- unlike most of the inexpensive ones I've tried, actually has a display screen. While not absolutely necessary, when you are BT connecting it to another device, it is handy for confirming details (especially if the device you are connected to is in your pocket/on your belt/on a table a few feet away), and especially if you are using it in a Batch mode (scan a bunch of items without sending them, then dump the whole pile to your connected device -- handy for doing things like taking Inventory.)It has three buttons which allow you to do some configuration from the device (as opposed to being stuck scanning barcodes to change settings), but can be a little challenging (ok, so how to I confirm vs go back, here, etc.) Overall, it's not bad, especially if you keep the instructions handy, and, in my experience, I usually set them up and leave them in the same more for pretty much the foreseeable future... but you DO have some ability to tweak the settings from the device as well as by scanning codes from the instructions. It's not, as far as I can tell, waterproof, but it is shock resistant (listed as being able to handle 10 foot falls; I tested with 6 ft to concrete and didn't see any issues), and, even if not waterproof, doesn't have much in terms of exposed electrical components, so I am not worried about it being in an environment that gets damp -- as long as it's not exposed to directly getting rained on (or dropped in water) it seems to work fine.As to the barcode scanning, that's where I've been most pleased -- the environment I use it in is... messy. Lots of dirt, oil, rust, etc -- barcode are often not in the best condition, but even some pretty damaged barcodes haven't given this unit any issues. Overall I'm very pleased with it, and will be suggesting trying it out to a few of our higher-volume locations.

Scans well, display is handy, key bounce / auto repeat issue
This scanner arrived in its own protective packaging. I received it in excellent condition. The scanner comes with its own 2.4 G dongle and a wrist strap. The scanner itself is relatively small and easily fits in a hand.I have tested it on both 1D and 2D (QR) codes and it has successfully scanned everything I've tried including smallish QR codes displayed on a computer monitor.I have a good number of barcode scanners and this kind ranks higher than ones that have no display that can show what was just scanned. That's a very handy feature for confirming a scan worked. Another useful feature is being able to perform a number of operations without scanning a barcode in an easily misplaced booklet. Examples include setting connection type, sound levels, upload method, time to sleep and others. Once the scanner is set up with user preferences, most other settings operations can be done through the settings feature without having to scan any printed barcodes. So this scanner is very good given its feature set. Unfortunately I did encounter an issue when using the buttons on the scanner, especially the up and down buttons. They're exhibiting either key bounce or too short an interval until auto repeat. The effect is that when pressed the device often acts as though the key was pressed more than once. This leads to skipping items in menus and skipping candidate times when trying to set the time. With persistence and some back and forth, it's possible to arrive where you wanted in a menu or time setting, but the problem is annoying. It detracts from an otherwise very nicely designed scanner.

Very Nice BT Barcode Scanner...
This barcode scanner with LCD display is easy to use and very easy to connect to a Windows unit. Connecting to Android was a tad more difficult, but wasn't beyond anyone's ability. The battery life wasn't bad, but does have room for improvement. The LCD screen is very helpful when using this scanner, as with other scanners you have to always be connected to know if it captured the right barcode or not. With the LCD screen you know right away if you accidentally grabbed the wrong barcode or not. This scanner also allows you to grab both flat and QR codes. I can't say that I love the color, but it sure does stand out in a working environment.🐻 *Statement/Disclaimer: This review is part of Amazon's Vine Program which provides products at a reduced cost in exchange for sincere/frank reviews. So many uses for this!
So jazzed to finally have one of this to help me organize my home library! It's going to take a little bit to get everything scanned and organized, but absolutely 1000% is going to be SO MUCH EASIER than it would be to type every ISBN by hand! The instruction manual makes sense and is easy to read, and the screen itself is also easy to read and use.(The one thing worth noting is that, if you do a lot of secondhand book buying, you will need to remove the stickers and/or get to the original ISBN to make it worth using.)
