Keeping your cool
Well I saw Ice Towels on TV and came to Amazon to look for one only to find they were out of stock so I looked for n alternative and happened upon this one. I also have at home a microfibre towel of the type often sold as a 'cooling towel' which is similar to the fabric the cool dog coats are made of. I measured the temperature of both using a laser thermometer and the Jonhen was 28.4 degrees as was the microfibre. I soaked both in cold water took them out, roughly squeezed the water out and check again the Jonhen was 23 degrees and the microfibre 22.3. I took both outside, wringed them out, shook them and checked again Jonhen 22.9 degrees, microfibre 23.2. I left them for 15 minutes and the Jonhen was 21.7, the microfibre 20.6. Then I shook them vigorously and the Jonhen was 19.6 and the microfibre 20.5. After 30 minutes The Jonhen was 22 degrees and the microfibre 21.9 but after a shake the Jonhen became 20.9 and the microfibre 21.6. The outside temperature in the shade is currently 25 degrees. So I have concluded that with my little experiment that no, the Ice Towels do not cool down to 20 degrees less than the ambient temperature as seemed to be claimed on the TV, both the Jonhen and the ordinary microfibre do have cooling properties but not at the level claimed, the Jonhen does cool down significantly after a shake, it is also lovely and soft to the touch whereas I find the microfibre a little unpleasant on the skin. Both will cool you down, the microfibre still feels very wet to the touch but the Jonhen doesn't really, it is drier and quite pleasant and cooling on the skin. If I want something to keep ME cool it would be the Jonhen type, if I was using something to wipe gently under my dogs to cool them I would also choose the Jonhen. If I wanted something wet for my dog to lie on then maybe the microfibre would do the job and they are cheaper. Was it worth the £6 I spent to find out? Well yes, because I do like it and I am sure I will make good use of it. I have no idea how the shaking makes a difference as it doesn't appear to with the ordinary microfibre. Certainly I am sure it would be lovely for sports people after a hard match and I will use it when I am doing agility training with my dogs. Speedy service and I like the product - what more could one ask for? Thank you

Not just for the Gym
It actually does what it says on the tin.You wet the towel in cold water, squeeze out the extra moisture and it literally stays cool. Wrap it around your neck and it really helps reduce your body heat.Used for excercising, hot flushes caused by hormones and gardening. This is a must have for anyone and everyone.Ideal for the gym, personal health such as hot flushes, cooling temperatures, gardening, hot days and all sports.Tried, tested, loved. Highly recommended.

Excellent product
Just purchased the cooling towel - must say I'm quite impressed at how long is stays cool. I suffer very badly with hot flushes during the night, so much so that I feel like I have just stepped out of the shower. However the cooling towel cools me instantly and the sweats do not last as long. Using the towel in the gym is very good as well, it leaves you cool and refreshed. Very easy to "snap" to get the towel cool again (how does it do it), then you're ready to go again. Well worth the money and very reasonably priced.

i picked up the towel and it was nice and cold to my face & body
Was a little dubious whether this would actually work, but it kinda really does. Once it becomes wet, and excess water has been wrung out, it really does manage to keep the towel cold for quite a long time, many hours in fact. With the heatwave in the UK at the moment, i wet the towel and took it to bed, leaving it out ( not inside the plastic bag ) on the bedside table. In the middle of the night, waking up uncomfortably hot, i picked up the towel and it was nice and cold to my face & body. When i woke up, i checked it again and it was still cold! It doesn't appear to evaporate the moisture away, even if kept out in a hot room. Pretty useful. The only caveat is that it gets a bit stinky after each use. Really needs to be washed with detergent after each use i think, otherwise you are transferring the smell back onto your skin. But basically, it does indeed work. Recommended!

Effective with many uses
Really effective in staying cool, just snap it a few times to reactivate. Really good value too.I bought mainly to cool down during exercise but it’s really nice placed over tired eyes (much better than the gel packs that don’t stay cold)Also, this would be a useful alternative for bumps/sprains etc in the absence of an ice pack. I now see it as a ‘holiday essential’.Only negative is that it’s longer than necessary and I wish I’d ordered a brighter colour because the grey is a little drab.

OK
Yes, it did work at cooling me down so good for hot flushes, but it stays rather wet so not great to use in bed at night.

Great cooling cloth - works well
I bought this product last year but didnt get a chance to use it. With the high temperatures over the past few days i finally tested it out. I didnt think it would be this good! I love it. Its a great size and after submerging it in warm water for a minute or so, you wring it out then open it up to allow the magic to happen! The cloth quickly cools down. If you find the cloth heating back up again after you wear it, simply open it back up again and waft it through the air for a second and it's cold again! Fabulous - would recommend this to others 10/10 would buy it again.

Where have you been all my life?!
I received my JonHen cooling towel today. Thank you.I can only ask, where has this been all my life? It’s absolutely superb! It does exactly what it says it does, I felt the benefits immediately after draping it around my neck. The instructions on the reverse are very clear and easy to understand and follow. If you don’t have one of these yourself, you need to get one NOW! They are awesome.I also draped it over my head and it felt beautiful. I have ordered a second one for my husband too. Thank you so much, I just wish I had known about them a long time before now. 5*****
