There are actually metal parts and lights that light up on this front loader.Good at a good pace, but not fast like a remote control car. Metal bucket for loading sand and toys into. Real working bucket, at the press of a button it cycles through lifting and dumping. So much fun.This is like a play truck come to life. Pair it with other construction vehicles and a sandbox, and you can have your own working job site. So much fun for kids who love watching construction.Rechargeable battery for the main front loader, then AA batteries for the remote, which you won't have to change out very often.

For the price this is a pretty decent value for a RC loader with several features. It comes with two rechargeable batteries for the loader, a charging cable, and a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment on both the loader and remote. It works well, has quite a long run time, and overall is pretty impressive.It moves forward and backward effectively. It turns pretty well when stationary, but it's not actually articulated and it's difficult to turn it while moving forwards or backwards. You can turn the sound on or off, the lights on or off, and there's a demonstration cycle button. My biggest complaint is that you can't actually choose to raise or lower the bucket....There are two buttons, but each one does the same thing and simply cycles the loader through a preset motion.It seems sturdy, well-built, and it comes in a nice box which is presentable as a gift. Would be enjoyable for anyone from the ages of about 5 on up to an adult. Not perfect in my opinion, but seems to be a good value for the price.

I really like the lights and sounds AND that you can turn them off (either the lights and/or the sound. Each have their own on/off buttons) and still use the earth mover. There's also a button on the top of the remote that allows it to do a predetermined set of moves if you just want to watch the earth mover run through its paces. I like that it comes with two rechargeable batteries for the "car," but you need to provide your own double "A" batteries for the remote. The remote allows front, back (with a warning beep), and turning movements (the front wheels do not turn when the vehicle does). You can also raise and lower the bucket using buttons on the remote. But the bucket really doesn't stay in the UP position as it moves, so actually using it to dump things might be a bit of a challenge (I tried putting the provided screwdriver in the bucket to see if it would stay while moving it up into the dump position. It wouldn't).The directions are helpful in finding out where to plug in the provided rechargeable batteries (behind the cab under the plastic silver piece not underneath).I plugged in one of the rechargeable batteries and let it charge (you need to provide your own charging box as one is not provided and as shown in the pic the connection between the box and the battery lights up. The battery and the connection did not get hot, even as the charging box did. The light never went out so there really is no way to know when the battery is fully charged (this is why I took a star away).A very firm 4 out of 5 stars (if you don't need or want to know when the rechargeable batteries are fully charged or actually dump anything then this toy is definitely a 5 out of 5 star toy).

I got this for my son who loves all things vehicle related. I figured it would be a big hit, and I was right. He was enthralled from the moment I took it out of the box. It was a little tedious to install the batteries due to the small screws, but once everything was set up, he and his sister quickly got the hang of it. In addition to the usual RC functions, the bucket goes up and down which is nifty. My only complaint is that charging/ replacing the battery is a bit tedious since you have to unscrew a tiny screw, but that's a small downside for the endless fun I am confident it will supply. I would definitely recommend.

The listing says the age range is 3+. But this is a nice piece of equipment (toy) that can be damaged so I recommend at least 6years old and up. I tell you I actually got this for myself. I find it to be a fun and relaxing time. This Truck includes some great special features including Non-slip Rubber Wheels, Flashing Lights, Realistic sounds, and 360-degree Rotating. It comes with the needed batteries so your ready to play straight outta the box. I was able to run it over gravel road and even Grass. Lots of fun and recommend for kids and adults alike!!!
