Insta360 X4 Premium Lens Guards

Update: Tested at –20°C Skiing I’ve used these covers while skiing at 9,000 ft in –20°C, shooting continuous 8K on my Insta 360 X4. They stayed snug with no fogging or cracks and kept the lenses safe through snow and cold. Solid protection for extreme conditions. Hope this helps anyone planning to take the X4 out for winter sports. The covers arrived well packaged and fit my Insta360 X4 perfectly. They snap on securely and don’t shift once in place, giving real confidence when carrying the camera around. Performance • No noticeable impact on sharpness or colour — video quality looks just the same with the covers installed. • Reflections and glare haven’t been an issue in my testing. I bought the X4 for action shots, and after reading horror stories about scratched lenses, these guards were a non-negotiable purchase for me. The Install: They are much easier to install than the older sticky-lens versions. The twist-lock mechanism feels secure, and I haven't had any issues with them vibrating loose during rides. Optical Quality: This is where you need to be careful. In 90% of situations, they are invisible. However, if you are shooting directly into the sun, you will get some internal reflection (lens flare) that isn't there with the naked lens. It’s a trade-off I’m willing to accept to save my lens, but professional shooters should keep this in mind. Durability: I’ve already taken a small pebble hit that would have destroyed my actual lens; the guard took a scuff, but the camera is fine. ​Pros: ​Twist-lock is secure and reusable (unlike the sticky ones). ​Does not affect stitching lines in 360 mode. ​Cheaper to replace than a camera repair. ​Cons: ​Noticeable glare/flaring in direct sunlight. ​Slightly bulky profile compared to standard guards. ​Verdict: If you are doing action sports, these are mandatory. If you are vlogging indoors, you might prefer the naked lens for slightly better clarity.

I kep losing my lens guards so I bought 2 spare sets as a backup - these are essential to protect your 360x4 lenses - they do not fit the standard 360. good quality and a reasonable price.

Work well with little flare or distortion. Within days of fitting them I had a small accident and dropped the camera scratching one of them. A cheap and easy replacement rather than damaging the actual lens.

to be bruttaly hones they aint worth the money , stick to the cheap ones the first set i bought fell apart , insta 360 a girl called Lucy promised to send me a second set but that never happend , on my previous camera i just had the cheap ones , but they show every spec , a complete holiday of 360 footage ruined

When I purchased my Insta 360 X4 (an upgrade from a previous model) the seller warned me “Just make sure you buy lens protectors!”. I didn’t bother with this kind of thing on my X2 and the device was fine throughout its useful lifetime. However, on this occasion, partly due to the seller’s message and partly due to the eye-watering cost of the device, I decided to buy these ‘standard’ lens protectors. My first impressions were not that great as they seem large and bulbous and add quite a lot width to the device overall. They also can’t be used in the water which is my primary use-case for the device on holiday with the family. However, whenever I have finished with the device in the swimming pool and cleaned it and wiped it dry I have added the lens protectors on. This is quick and quite a simple process of twisting to lock them in place. I then store the device in the original soft neoprene zip cover. I’m writing this review on holiday as, just an hour ago, I went to get something from our hotel room safe, and accidentally knocked the camera (in its cover, with the protectors on) out of the safe. It fell about 5 feet onto a marble floor. When I picked it up I could tell there was something not right. I unzipped the cover and found that one of the lens protectors had shouldered the fall and had cracked and broken. I tested the device and all is fine. The real lens is 100% clear and fine also. So, this twenty pound investment, just saved me five hundred pounds! Phew! My advice? Don’t procrastinate, get these now and replace them when they save your device from a fall or scratch. It’s money well spent.

Y dirás...que hago comprando esto cuando vienen incluidas en la cámara? Pues por que mi hermano, fue torpe y se le calló con el palo selfie incluido. Por suerte este protector se sacrificó por la lente, como esta diseñado para hacer jaja y ahora lo tengo rallado por la tierra. Así que aquí estoy gastando lo que vale, muy contento de no tener que tirar la cámara a la basura.
