Compact, Convenient, & Competent!
I needed to replace my old 6' wooden ladder that just wasn't reaching the places I needed to go and was getting too creaky and wobbly trust. A friend pointed me to this metal telescoping ladder on Amazon and the price was almost half of what I'd seen at stores such as Home Depot! This reaches more than twice the height of my old ladder, feels solid the whole way up (you're not supposed to stand on the top two steps for safety), and experienced very minimal flex even when fully extended. I was easily able to do paint touch-ups above my garage and used it to access my attic to install an antenna. It's very compact when retracted- taking up half the height and depth of my old wooden ladder, making it easy to store and convenient to move around the house for various projects without having to watch where I'm going or what I might bang into all the time. No more creeks, wobbles, or the fear that old wood is going to break and send barreling into the hard surface below.A few other notes- the nylon strap and buckle used when you retract the ladder holds everything securely in place and doesn't get in the way. The release tabs that lock/unlock each step have to be pressed in from both sides- so no worries about an accidently retraction. The rubber feet do a great job of holding the ladder firmly in place- I've tried it on both carpet and concrete. I'm a decently sized guy 6'2", 250 pounds... this fully supported my weight, plus heavy materials I lifted competently.Great value!

Great extendable, telescoping aluminum ladder
This ladder came conveniently folded down in a box, not bulky or heavy. It’s made of a shiny grey aluminum (or an alloy) and black plastic ends. Each step locks automatically with 2 buttons when extended. Great feature! It extends for about 12 ft (4 mts) and folds down easily by sliding the black buttons on each side. It has a safety feature that if you push only one of the buttons on one side, it won’t slide down until you unlock the other one to avoid hurting your fingers. Regarding sturdiness, it is sturdy but starts bending a little when you are half way up on the fully extended ladder. Use care when going up higher…When folded down, it forms a small package, easy to store anywhere. It comes with 2 additional replacement locking buttons in case of breakage.

Very handy!
I think this is going to be a very handy item to have around! The collapsed size fits in my service truck cross-bed box (see photo), and it will nicely store in my RV as well. Extension of the ladder is fast. Just pull up on a rung and it automatically locks in place once extended. Full extension to the 12' height takes less than 15 seconds. Collapsing ladder is almost as easy. Just slide the capture mechanisms and each segment slides back into the segment below it. Complete collapse takes less than 30 seconds. They provide a strap and buckle to prevent unwanted extension while transporting. The owners manual is thoughtfully written in proper English. Owing to the telescoping functionality, the higher the ladder is extended the more play is introduced into the overall assembly, but even at full extension it feels solid enough to not cause me much concern that it's going to break under my 210 pound weight.

Bringing my experience to a whole new level
Sorry for the cheap headline.I have been borrowing an extension ladder from a neighbor for years and finally decided I needed to get my own. This was the best price at the time that I could find for something in the 12ft range. As others have noted, the distance between most of the rungs is pretty substantial, much more than muscle memory wants the distance to be. It is going to take quite a few more trips up/down the ladder for my brain to feel comfortable with such a gap.The weight and size that it compacts down to is great. I store it in my RV behind a couch in the slide out. I'm not worried at all about the small amount of weight it adds to the slide out.I have pinched my fingers about twice now (slow learner?) during take down but I'm getting better. It does do a weird thing, seemingly randomly, about not collapsing all of the way down for every section until the end. Probably a user issue. To increase stability, I am using a YouTuber's "hack" of using a ratchet strap from about shoulder height on the ladder to a low point on my RV and applying a decent amount of downward force. This greatly reduces the ladder's desire to slide left/right, or to move otherwise. It also helps to pre-load some of the flex that is inherent in this type of ladder design. Trust in the ladder is much improved with this. With just a few little things noted above, I give 4 stars. Really a 4.5 but what can I do?
