Lightweight and recommended by a flight attendant!
My brother in law who works for a major airlines suggests this bag as a carry on because it fits no matter whiat airline you fly. I watched it for months and decided to give it a try for my last trip. She is lightweight and the zipper quality is top notch. I liked the wheels on the bag because they are higher quality and they will be durable. Easy to maneuver in the airport. The color wasn’t my first choice but it was on sale and I didn’t want black since everyone has black. I wanted to stand out so I would know it was my bag. I’m glad I got it. The inside of the bag has a zipper pouch and the lining also can be opened up so you can put your shoes in there away from your clothes. The handle is strong too.

Perfect for serious travel
Decades long frequent traveler. This meets requirements of domestic and international carriers for carryons. The bag is well built from sturdy yet lightweight materials. This is for serious travel: the two wheel option is good on cobble stone in Paris or Kyoto. If you are the kind of traveler who travels once a year domestically and all you do is wheel it from terminal A to terminal B, a spinner (four wheels) may be better for you. Also, domestically you can generally get away with a slightly larger bag (21 in or even 22 in). But for serious travel this is perfect: It is lightweight, has two wheels (not four) which works well in rugged environments and maximizes pay load dimensions (four wheelers waste space, you loose one inch) and importantly you will not be asked to check the carryon when traveling internationally.

Dollar for dollar.....TravelPro is made for the long haul!
This good-looking rolling, carry-on suitcase is built to last! That's why TravelPro is a preferred choice of flight attendants and pilots. At the price of suitcases today you can't afford to repeatedly replace cheapo ones, when you'd be better off putting a few more dollars toward one that will securely and handsomely take you anywhere in the world--for a very long time. I chose the rollaboard style (2 wheels) as opposed to spinners (4 wheels) which are not as sturdy and durable especially over uneven pavement and cobblestones. And the softside fabric exterior won't show rough handling as much as shiny, hard plastic luggage. The quality and features really shine throughout: --SO lightweight it will be easy to place in overhead bins. --This particular bag has been repeatedly proven to fit within sizing limitations for all domestic and most international airlines. --More packing volume than a "spinner". --Expandable! Although utilizing that feature may negate it fitting in an overhead bin. --Comfortable handle (adjustable height) and smooth rolling wheels. --Sturdy, heavy duty smooth running zippers --Spacious, well-thought out interior and exterior compartments, and convenient exterior storage for a laptop. --Awesome warranty VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Dollar for dollar.....this one is made for the long haul....not like a flash in the pan suitcase that looks shiny and new, but will need replacing in a couple of years because it is not made of the tough stuff like TravelPro.

Great quality and value, maybe not so rugged as the old stuff
super light. fairly tough and great build quality. Always go 2 wheel as they are MUCH less likely to fail. I might hold out for the crew version if you travel more than a few times a year. I don't like the new front feet design on ALL the travelpro 2 wheel cases - much less durable than old design.

Lightweight, packs a bunch! Buy on a deal
This is definitely one of the most lightweight rollers I have seen. But it can pack a lot, especially if you use the expandable zipper. I can vouch for it since we used on international flights where they weigh your carryons too. The fabric has a give to pack more if needed, especially ow when the airlines are charging for check ins. The 2-wheel versus 4-wheels, gives more room to pack. Only problem is when the suitcase is not fully packed, and you are pulling it along, it can flip to the side. Upside: the wheels are big and roll on different surfaces better and also easy to change with spare parts available for this brand. The handle is easy to extend and pack, almost too easy. One trick I learnt, pack heavy items towards the bottom. It may not be as bulletproof as another brand which airline crew prefer, but is good enough for us and the price is also good.

Low weight, great capacity
Spinners may be more popular but this carry on wins hands down for amount of storage. Very light. I tried many alternatives and came back to this one. Stands up well.

Awful design and quality
I bought this rolling backpack as a carryon for a trip abroad. When I received it, I discovered that using the shoulder straps (this IS a backpack) was unbelievably clunky, involving folding the entire back flap {that concealed the straps when not in use) down underneath the pack itself, over the wheels (?) which just didn't make sense at all...For one, the back flap had padding that would ONLY be useful when the pack was being used as a backpack...so why even have the padding if it is going to be folded under the pack? And two, what you end up with is, as noted before, a sloppy flap, fastened by a small piece of velcro, hanging down the over the bottom of the pack, essentially making the wheels useless. I thought, "Maybe I just don't understand how this thing is supposed to be used," but my honest impression was, somebody decided the company needed a rolling backpack in its product line, and threw this idea together in a few minutes...The design, however, was not the worst thing about it...I also immediately noted that the straps themselves seemed to be made with fairly lightweight nylon, with virutally no paddingf or your shoulders, which I could only guess had something to do with the fact the straps needed to be less bulky to make it easier to pack them away under the aforementioned flap when not in use. Nevertheless, I liked the wheeled backpack concept, the size and all the pockets...and as I was leaving in a matter of days...decided to keep it. Bad decision. Several weeks into the trip, when lifting the pack to put it on my back, one of the nylon shoulder straps just snapped in two...which was dumbfounding to me, as, after having used backpacks for over 50 years, this was something I had never seen happen. Nylon straps just breaking? At that point, I had no choice but to continue using it with one strap (any sort of repair was not possible) and then return it for a refund when I got home. Upon arrival, I went to Amazon the next day and discovered that my 30 day return window had expired, which was fair enough...So I contacted the manufacturer directly, expecting them to certainly allow me to return it to them...Howeve, after informing them of the strap break, I was then told that as I had bought the backpack through Amazon, I would have to contact them...which was just amazing to me. It would have been one thing if I'd kept the backpack too long simply because I was lax in deciding whether or not I wanted to keep it...but when I contact a company and tell them that their product failed after two weeks...and have them send me elsewhere to set things straight? Mindboggling to me. Luckily, when I explained the situation to Amazon, they did allow me to return it for a full refund, so everything worked out fine in the end...But I would therefore definitely recommend against buying this product...both for the design, and more importantly, for the quality...And beyond that, I will not do business with their company again. I'd also add, this is the first review I have ever submitted about anything.

Solid carry-on for traveling
For foreign travel I work with a large checked duffel combined with a small carry-on for "don't want to check" items. My old 18" carry-on finally wore out and needed a replacement. So I bought the Maxlite 20 inch as a replacement...very nice suitcase with good lockable zippered compartments, good rolling wheels, good handle, and light weight...very comfortable to use and wheel around...and looks and feels like solid long-lasting construction. However, it's substantially larger and double the weight of my old 18" carry-on, so I'd prefer a smaller model also be available. I used this 20" on a trip to Tahiti. Then I was faced with an internal US trip over 4th of July with highly likely plane cancellations...no time to be stuck with checked luggage...can't afford to have your luggage trapped in a cancelled flight. For that trip, I quickly ordered the Maxlite max-carry-on size 22" to try and get everything into that carry-on plus a small backpack. It worked...got everything in...using its expanding feature....and yes our return plane was cancelled and having everything carry-on saved the day as we had to re book on a different carrier to get home after we'd already checked and had boarding passes on our original flight. The 22 inch Maxlite is not that much larger than the 20 inch, but I guess it's at the airline limit for carry-ons. It works very well, with just a few minor nits. Good Points: Zippers work smoothly and are lockable; Nice interior zippered folio-sized compartment under the lid for papers and thin items. Nice exterior folio-sized compartment on the exterior of the lid easily holds lap-top computer with easy access during security check-in and is lockable. Wheels work smoothly and are well tucked in so they don't get in the way. Main compartment is expandable...nice feature that I used. Just fit straight-in in large-plane overhead bin. Handle works smoothly...good length. Solid-feeling construction...hopefully providing long life. Slate green is a VERY nice color. Weak Points: Small exterior pocket on lid side is too small and tight to access and is unlockable....it's useless...but no big deal...I would have just left it off and saved a little weight. As another minor nit...I would reverse the lid hinge line to the other side of the suitcase so the lid opens to the back when the wheels are on the right and handle on the left. I found I was constantly having to rotate the suitcase after having put it on the stand or bed...but that may be just what I'm used to. No other significant distractions...nice suitcase for my needs.

All around great bag!
I’m not sure how sturdy this bag is and whether or not it’ll hold up after a lot of use, but I used it for a 4 day getaway and this is by far the best bag I’ve used on a short trip! I tend to overpack and I was able to fit 4 days worth of clothes/undergarments, a laptop, flat iron, and a hair dryer. The only thing I used a separate bag for was a small bag for shoes, toiletries, and makeup. Keep in mind that since I do overpack, the average person would probably be able to make this work for clothes & shoes for a 3-4 day trip. It’s very roomy, zips easily, and very lightweight. My only complaint was the handle - it seemed to get stuck when I would try to push it back down, and took a little bit of fussing with. If using it on a flight it’s probably going to be a tad bit big for an accepted carry on so I would double check the dimensions. Overall great choice and I’m glad I made the purchase.
