Just what I needed - It's good to have around just in case...

Ok so I've never had one of these fire blankets before, so I am coming from ZERO experience. However, let me tell you what I did.To test it, I took one of my torches (torch lighter) and held it to the material. At first, I was nervous, so I only did it until it seemed to start smoking. However, I did return, and I simply held it there the second time until I thought too much smoke was being produced...Conclusion, it only smoked and left a slight discoloration. There was no damage to the material whatsoever beyond that. This would suggest that it would perform as intended and would also suggest it should be reusable as claimed. I mean, in my mind, under normal circumstances you would throw this on a fire and the fire hopefully goes out. The amount of time there should not be all that long for the fire to smother out. I think this product should work fine, at least for a few uses.Value is spectacular, being under $5 at the time of writing!I think it would be ok to recommend this fire blanket.

While I cannot give a full review because we have not had to use this product yet (thankfully!) I do like the size and packaging for storage. This is easy to keep next to the stove out of the way but with quick access if needed. I like that this would be something my kids could use if needed without trying to remember how to get a fire extinguisher to work. I will have one of these on had always in the kitchen.

Fire blankets and extinguishers are like insurance, you have them but hope you never need them. I have not tested this, as I have not had any fires in my home. I have looked it over and read the instructions, and based on similar blankets I have, I am confident it will work fine. This is a fiberglass blanket that you place over a small fire to smother the flames. I like these for their ease of storage (no need to recharge them periodically, no need to worry about having the correct chemical for the correct fire type, etc) and their ease of use (not everyone knows the PASS instructions for using a fire extinguisher, but anyone can figure out how to put a blanket over a fire).

This is a no-brainer Having a fire blanket for only $4 is one of the best things you can do. It's better than a fire extinguisher because just laying this over the fire is better than blasting the oil, grease, other flammables all over the place in a small space. And when it's out you can clean up a little bit and continue with what you were doing, albeit with a higher level of adrenaline...It's cheap, works better than most other options, and is reusable.

I got this fire blanket for our shop. I like that it is small and compact and easily hung on the wall. The color red stands out, which is good for finding it quickly if you need it. The blanket is a good size for containing a small fire and could be used as a bench top cover while working to protect from a potential fire.The storage bag it comes in and the blanket are well made. The blanket is a woven fiberglass material. I didn’t actually try it, but I’m familiar with similar products and I believe it works. There are two straps that hang out of the holder to pull the blanket out quickly. The hanger (storage bag) is reusable and has a rivet hole for hanging.For the price point, this is a great product. It will not replace fire extinguishers, but I feel having more protection is always better than not enough. I will definitely be ordering more for our other outbuildings and give the product five stars.
