LTC V5B-BL Hi-Fi Speakers

I bought these speakers . Looking at the spec and the money thought would be reasonable speakers being the original retail was a tad over £200. So they arrived on time was a little excited like it's been a few years since I purchased any new speakers and have been running bookshelf size jpw speakers for a a long time was time to replace them . I was really disappointed to find that one of the speakers was badly damaged the bottom plate was totally adrift from the rest of the speaker . So I unpacked the other speaker a thought I would give it a try sound wise. Well ok speakers need to be run in for a bit before they give their true sound . But to my disappointment the sound was very questionable . A floor standing speaker with 2 x 6.5 mid and 2x 6.5 subs should out perform a small bookshelf speaker with a 5 inch driver even if they have not been run in . These didn't even come close the volume was low the base was definitely not there and the mids were dull . I am running a ki signature CD player and a Yamaha amp so is reasonable set up . I took a look inside the broken speaker as its inside was exposed due to the base being adrift . Well I was amazed to see such thin wires a not only that the speaker connection block on the out side suggests that these can be bi-wired . I can definitely say they could be connected like this due to the 4 connection posts however I would make very little difference to the sound as the they are linked with a wire inside and only one pair of wires goes to a single crossover . If you was to try to bi-amp these you would damage one or both your amplifier as they would actually be connected together and not to separate speakers. The thickness of the material the box was made of was only about 1/2 inch and in my opinion definitely not up to the job. The I over all build quality was not good at all. So I contacted the seller asking for a refund due to one of the speakers being badly damaged when it arrived here with me. I got an email back with an attachment for the document to return the speakers . I then had to print this off and attach it to the boxes then transport them to my nearest ups depot to be returned. Which was a real pain being these are very large heavy boxes ups would have picked them up but I would have had to pay the fee for this extra service. I did a full refund one the speakers arrived back with suppliers so I can't fault that side I'd it. But please don't waste your money on these speakers as they are rubbish build and sound quality are very questionable to say the least.
