First, I appreciate the other reviews here of these specific items, and similar ones from other sources. These are long, and strong, and do the work. Yes, I might have gotten 10x as many for 2x or 3x the price, but if they break when you use them, I get more frustrated, even if economically it might make sense to throw away a few cheap broken items. I like quality, and these are quality. I dont clean my "machines" more than once a week, so these will last me a while. And for full transparency, the only thing I share with the supplier is a common last name. I am not realted to the seller in any way, and am not getting paid for this review.

After reading about all the negative reports on most of the cleaning swabs, I was rather uneasy in ordering these. However, my fears were certainly unfounded! The swabs work great. They do not come apart like ordinary swabs when moist. The sticks were one of the things about which I was also uncertain, pertaining to their strength. Again, they work very well. The only possible problem anyone could have would be to treat them as if they were made out of steel. They are sturdy enough to poke into the areas where needed in cleaning my Smith & Wesson SD9 VE. I bought the 100 piece packet and, when their gone, I will most definitely purchase them again.

I was looking for cotton swabs on a 6" stick to clean my firearms. I did not care if they were sterile of not, as they will not be used for medical purposes. I have tried several different brands, from different vendors, and these swabs from Fischer Machine and Tool are the best I have found for cleaning firearms. There seems to be slightly more cotton at the tip, and it stays wound on the stick longer than the medical products. The wooden stick seems to be stronger and does not break as easily as other products.If you are looking for swabs to clean firearms or machinery - these are the ticket.

These are long so it makes it easy to reach nooks and crannys. But I have never pulled one out of the bag to clean something and have not have the wood break. Every. Single. One. Breaks. No matter how gentle I think I’m being with them. Q-tips are ten times more heavy duty than these things.

These swabs look good. The truth is that the swab tips are pretty good. They clean, absorb, hold together, etc. However, the wooden shaft pretty consistently breaks during use. I acknowledge that I occasionally use the swabs to reach deeper areas in firearms. Even discounting this, when I'm not using much of the shaft, they still want to break. I'll look for a better designed (i.e., thicker shaft) swab when I re-order.

These are much better than your standard "pharmacy" Q-tips they have a long wooden handle that allows you to reach farther into hard to reach spaces and the wooden handle it much sturdier than the paper/plastic ones you may be accustomed to. I don't know why waited so long to order these. It may just be my personal observation but the cotton seem to stay more tightly wound and stay in place better unlike the traditional swabs.

Well first off can’t go wrong with the price. I personally like how sturdy the stick are and how it takes a lot to break it. That drives me crazy and another thing is how the cotton stays on when cleaning. So overall it’s was a great find and would buy it again.
