So far so good--excellent sound quality
Impressive. First of all, this thing is TINY. It really does record a quality signal. And once I figured out the modes, I was able to easily get the full potential out of it.First things first: If you want to operate it down and dirty, right out of the box, you can start recording by holding it, logo up, sliding the little switch--the only one on the device--to the LEFT. You'll see a RED LED begin to glow, and you're recording in mono.If you slide the switch instead to the RIGHT, you'll get a white LED, and you're in APP mode. That unlocks more features, included stereo "music" recording. Now, I've seen some others complain a little about the app, and I see where they're coming from. In order to change recording modes, you need to open the "Scene Selection" menu, where you'll get a set of scenarios to choose from--Memo, Meeting, Classroom, Interview, and Music. Only "Music" records in stereo. There is no place else to change the parameters, although you will have choices as to whether you want to record "Original Sound Recording" or "AI Noise Cancelling."I'm pretty sure there is zero AI happening with the noise cancellation, as it sounds like a very familiar algorithm. For me, it's far too aggressive, because it has audible artifacts on breath, etc. Unless I'm in a VERY noisy environment, I'll not be inclined to use the NR, and will stick with "original sound" and use my much better studio tools to denoise after the fact. There is generous recording storage and battery life. If you keep the storage relatively empty, and the battery well charged, you can just start recording and capture a LOT of audio. Hours upon hours. What's the target use of this thing? Well, obviously, it's quite stealthy in size and low-key black presence. If you disable the recording light (in app preferences) then you've got an unobtrusive recording device for situations in which you need to document meetings, etc. Just be aware of the legal jurisdiction--some jurisdictions allow "one party" consent (that's you), and some don't. It's up to you to guard your own flank there. If I had a wish list...I'd wish for a fully "pro" version of the app, that didn't require me to deal with Scene Selection. I'd want a manual level setting, too, to avoid the "pumping" inherent in auto-leveling. I would also very much wish for more details on the Noise Reduction algorithm, frequency response specs...the kind of information a professional expects when buying a piece of gear. At this price, more details would reassure someone like me. As it was, I had to read the reviews, and roll the dice. Had I been given the specs, it would have been a no brainer instead of an "Oh well, let's gamble." The device is worthy of documentation. It's a quality product. But overall these are minor gripes compared to the SOLID build quality and degree to which someone at iZYREC has thought through use scenarios and made this easy for someone who knows nothing at all about audio recording.Now...I have not tested the various other features that I'd file under either memory saving or convenience, i.e., voice-triggered recording, etc. My preference is to "get it all," and edit later. Now, as to the audio quality...it's QUITE GOOD!!! In fact, I would not hesitate to use this in some production scenarios, say a low-budget video situation where I need to plant a mic and there's no convenient place to put it. I have other, more professionally oriented gear for this, but the recording quality is good enough to do in a pinch. The most obvious use case, of course, is the one I mentioned. It's a tiny, unnoticeable recorder with plenty of battery life and storage to capture whatever audio you need to capture. The case is a nice add, as are all the little mounting doodads that come with it. I'm leaving it bare for now. Because everything is BLACK, I opted for the lighest-color case, and I am not disappointed in that decision. What good is a device if you can't find it, ha!!!All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase. Five stars.

Pretty handy piece of tech to have around just in case inspiration strikes
Pros:Enhanced App Integration: The visual interface of the app is a breeze for managing and sharing audio files. It's a significant leap forward from the traditional voice recorder methods.Compact and Discreet: The size and weight (equivalent to 3 nickels) makes this highly portable and unobtrusive.Extended Battery Life: With 30 hours of continuous recording and 40 hours of voice-activated recording, it's hard to beat the battery life of this device.High-Quality Audio: The inclusion of dual Knowles SiSonic mics with AI noise-canceling is a surprisingly good feature that results in crisp audio recordings.Visual Playback: Visualizing audio playback using waveform graphics on the app can be a handy feature for those who want to analyze their recordings in depth.File Security: The file protection ensures that your confidential recordings stay that way.Efficient File Transfer: The wifi fast file transfer is practical for moving large files.Cons:Button Sensitivity: Like some others have said, the slide button is too sensitive, potentially leading to accidental recordings or unknowingly turning the device off.Noise Cancellation Feature: In my tests, the noise cancelling feature seemed to work well, but I could see it really messing things up under certain circumstances where the environment noise is particularly chaoticReliance on the App: I could see how the heavy dependence on the app for certain features could be a problem for some people. The fear that the app might not be maintained in the long run is a genuine concern.Cost: This is on the high side, and is probably only worth it if you're a heavy user of voice recordings to take down your thoughts and information from events.Overall:This voice recorder is a pretty advanced piece of tech that delivers on many fronts. Its compact size, long battery life, and quality recordings make it really useful. The app integration and visual playback features set it apart from other recorders out there. However, there are some areas where it can improve, such as refining the noise cancellation feature and making the device less dependent on the app for essential functions. It might be a bit pricey for some, but if you value the convenience of having a seamless app integration and extended battery life, I'd give it a try to see if it works for your particular workflow.

So flat and small, love how easy it is to use.
This voice recorder is pretty incredible. It is slim and small and fits virtually anywhere. You can download the app, flip the switch on the device, and it will instantly start recording and send everything it hears to the app. It comes with a carrying case that can easily fit into a purse or pocket. This device also comes with a magnetic clip so you can keep it attached to an article of clothing if needed. It also has great listening capability because it can hear conversations that are happening across the house and catch everything they say. It can certainly be very useful.*This product was given to me through the Amazon Vine program for my honest and unbiased opinion. I have no affiliation with the company/seller. I hope you find this review helpful in your decision-making process. *
