I wasn't sure about the directions, using water to test the sprayer, but I figured it out.I'm going to assume that the sprayer that came with my purchase was faulty, as I could not get it to work no matter what I did, and I am not a dummy as I use garden sprays, etc. that come with this same type of sprayer. I finally gave up, grabbed a spray bottle from my garage, poured some of the product into it and used it that way. It worked, so I'm happy about that.....and the sprayer that came with this is in the trash!! I went out about an hour later and it is mostly dry (hot day here, though).....I am going to respray several more times to get the effect that I want. Just using this on the edges of an area that I want to keep from possibly being disturbed during a heavy rain. Over all, I am please, but very disappointed in the spray attachment (junk, in my opinion). :-)

Bought 4 bottles of this and it didn't hold, followed directions and it just made my bark look shiny.
