Wanted a media player to replace my wdtv Live for local media. Wanted menu similar to that of the excellent WDTV menu and an IR remote to work with my Logitech Harmony, besides being able to play all modern codecs. This thing is so well thought out and easily customizable that It now looks and functions like the WDTV, including the background picture. No other unit I found could do so. My wife, a technical zero, easily made the transition. The unit also has HDR and surround capability, but I don't use those features. Additionally, Dune HD is a Russian product and design, not Chinese, and the attitude towards info and support is quite different, the Dune HD web site, and updates are superb. The info on the Dune wed site is so extensive I was able to find answers to any question I had (it even gives IR codes for every Dune remote made). I don't use ethernet or wifi for local media so I can't comment on it's performance as a plex server, but it's performance for usb media is fast and flawless. If I wanted 7 channel hifi Dolby and extreme HDR I'd probably go to a higher end model. but after this using this unit and the Dune web site, I'd go Dune again.

This is excellent. Connected to the media player hdmi input on my Denon AVR. Plays my microSD videos well using slot on the side. Plays movies with TrueHD7 atmos audio that I could not play otherwise. Recommended.

I purchased the Dune HD AV1 4K Media Player to replace my existing MYPIN 4K media player with less overall functionality. The Dune HD AV1 player was easy to setup and works well. I particularly like the added ethernet capability that my previous player lacked. With the Dune HD AV1 player I am able to directly access video stored on my NAS. I no longer have to copy video onto a USB portable drive in order to play them on my 4K media player (although, the USB option is still available on the Dune HD AV1 if desired). The only reasons I did not give the Dune HD AV1 player 5 stars are: 1. I did encounter some compatibility issues with some downloaded animated video content that would not play on the Dune HD player, but did play OK on my previous media player. Sometimes the video would not play at all, and sometimes only the video would play with no audio or vice-versa 2. As soon as I select a video to play, the player must cut off the video signal for a brief period of time. This causes my projector to blank the screen while it scans for a video signal. Thus, I hear the audio of the video being played, but I miss several seconds of the video while waiting for the projector to sense the signal and display the video. Very annoying for sure. While not issues, I also liked how my old media player would display a thumbnail for any highlighted video to help select content to play. It would be nice if the Dune HD AV1 did the same. It would also be nice if the length of the video was displayed with the other video information for the highlighted video, as this is also useful information to have when deciding whether or not to play a video. One final note: the Dune HD AV1 player has the Plex client application on it for accessing Plex media servers. I use the Jellyfin media server alternative. According to Google, there is a modified Jellyfin client called DUNE available for this player. If so and the Dune client works with Jellyfin media servers, then this would be another plus for the Dune HD AV1 media player.

Easy to navigate UI, decent quality playback of all my old video files. I would'a got another, but the price doubled..

No video output in any mode on any HDMI port or cable. No compatibility issues found on cables or display. DOES NOT WORK will be returning. No manual, instructions and website guides are HORRIBLE with little to no information. Is ON state RED OR BLUE? With no instructions or video who can tell! Unit seems to turn on at power cord plug in, does not wait for power button to be pressed and starts loading "DUNE" immediately (BLUE light). State change not available until full 2 minutes after clock has appeared on display following "DUNE" load (power state change to RED light). No other functions or indications. Will buy directly from Dune. no REFUND requested because I don't have UPS dropoff out here.

The device works perfectly, and is a good value for the cost. The instructions were sparse and it took some poking around in the device settings to learn how to use it and how it configures things, but after doing so it is logically designed and does what I wanted, which was to play videos on an external SSD USB drive connected to the device. Things I learned: don't have it 'index' movies on a disk full of your own videos, this is pointless. You may need to go to 'setup' and change pushing the 'select' button from "add to playlist" to "play current file now". Your attached USB hard drive will show up under 'sources' and you can display your file titles and play them as desired. I got it because another media player I recently bought could not handle av1 codecs, but this player 'just works' with the older h264 and av1. My roku device could not play av1 encoded videos either - perhaps newer roku devices can, IDK. The device also connects to your home wifi and can play videos from online sources like tubi - that is not why I bought it however so I have not yet tested that function. tldr; you will be unhappy minimalistic instructions, but once you figure out how it works you will be VERY pleased! It is well worth the cost, and I am a happy camper.

Great product more technical with more bells and whistles. Easy to use and plays several consecutive videos in sequence without having to pick your next video. Totally recommend spend the extra bucks and get a better product.

Bonjour il lit tous les formats même iso , mkv ext... des images 1080p il en fais du 4k pour être simple Il y a un zoom pour l image .très simple à installer!! Le câble hdmi est dans la boîte plus l alimentation. Petit chargeur .tout est au top. Tout est complet il y a le Wi-Fi pour connections internet faut l activer ( branchement a internet, Wi-Fi)pour avoir la dernière version du logiciel! Tous est bien expliqué après avoir mis en français ou autres suivre à l écran . Un petit bijoux je vous conseille ce petite appareil le top.pour un prix très resonable !!! Bonne journée. Pascal. I just wanted a media player to play 4k videos from usb. i tried/have a couple of other ones incl the Sumvision one. This Dune unit blows them away in terms of functionality and usability.

Fijne super kleine media speler die werkelijk bijna alles afspeelt. Heel mooi het "mijn collectie" overzicht van al je films. Veel extra informatie over de film, acteurs etc. Werd netjes binnen de voorgestelde datum afgeleverd. Item was goed verpakt.

Perfetto, legge tutto, si aggiorna da solo, e si vede anche il palintesto Pluto. Prezzo molto conveniente rispetto a quello che si ottiene ( ed è tantissimo ) Ottimo acquisto.
