People don't seem to understand what these are. Research will help. They don't throw sparks. Ferro rod sparks these shavings.

It's a stick of metal
Not heavy at all. Got this to help start camp or emergancy fires with ferro rod. I'll have to review how it works when I try it out.

Doesn’t seem to be pure, I have magnesium sticks that work much better.

Don't buy for Hydrogen Water.
These rods turn black once placed in Vinegar, which is a sign of other metals being present. Pure Magnesium Sticks should get shiny and clean when placed in Vinegar. I wouldn't suggest trying to use for hydrogen water as the other metals may make you sick.
