Don't buy it if you don't play 8-ball at least
It's a good book, but I only recommend it to people who play 9-ball on American pool tables. Half the interest for me was the descriptions of games like one-pocket and straight pool. If you're just into playing with reds and yellows on a pub table this is not for you.My only critiscism is that if I'd published it there'd have been a paragraph at the end telling us what happened with Tony's lawsuit. Apart from that, I enjoyed it all, and I read 99.9% fiction, so I was surprised by this. I know this isn't a review, but I'll be loaning it to the guys I play pool with and hopefully they'll change our game conditions to a more American style, like it is everywhere else. In Scotland we really don't get a chance to see what a great game 9-ball is. More books like this might rectify that.Oh, and while it's not an instruction book, for 20% of the price of one, I got at least half a dozen valuable tips from this which should improve my pool and my results, and more advanced players may spot more. Money well spent.
