Value for the money

Got these for my son because he loves this brand and also loves the American flag on them!

This TaylorMade TP5 pix golf balls comes in a set of 12 balls. There are four boxes with 3 balls each. Note that there are several styles of golf balls on this product page. The TP5 pix is different than the TP5x pix. The chart on the back of the box (and on the last product page picture) shows the performance characteristics between those two balls. This color “USA” has two American flags with 50 “stars” (dots) each, Plus there is the 10 of the symbol that is based on the American flag. The balls themselves just have “TP5” on them, not the “pix” part. I measured 3 of the balls. They were 45.68g, 45.70g, and 45.71g.

I can't say that this golf ball improves my game, but I can say that playing with a top of the line ball feels much better than the bottom of the line. These balls are responsive and tend to react better to my tiny adjustments. Of course, I'm not good enough where this makes any sort of major difference, but I do find playing with a good ball like this makes it a bit easier to read my strikes. Despite the investment, these are high quality balls that have held up well to some use on the green and on the course. Without losing them, they have held up well compared to a basic ball exterior.

I paid $60 for 3 balls.

They haven't made me a good golfer, but they work great! They have a nice feel and are soft enough I can get a little bit of backspin with my pitching wedge. I do like the lines on the surface too. It's a small detail, but it does seem to help me line up with the hole a little. If only it'd make the green level too. Overall, they seem like great golf balls to me.

I have played Chrome Softs for years and really like them, but I would find the occasional TP5 when looking in the weeds for my errant shots and I really liked the way the TP5's played, so I got a dozen and I am very happy with them. They may be the ultimate ball for my game. I need low spin off the driver, distance of course, and lots of spin for approach shots and chipping. These balls deliver from tee to green. I love the feel of them off the putter too. In my opinion they are superior to ProV1's and Chrome Softs. Highly recommended.

I haven't been out to hit these balls yet, but they feel every bit as well-made as other premium balls. There are zero defects or blemishes. Given TaylorMade's reputation and the feel of these out of the box, I have no doubt they'll turn out to be good golf balls. I'll update my review if they turn out differently.
