Connection issues
I thought that this would be a good relatively cost effective way to get my device on the big screen but I soon ran nto issues.I'm not a fearful of tech and like to think myself competent. Effectively this is pretty basic tech, connection should be a case of inserting the cable between the devices, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to connect. It's a shame as the device itself seems to be well made and it's reasonably priced, but I can't really review properly if it doesn't work, hence the 2 star rating.

This Works but the Plug is Too Big to Use with a Leather Case and Unexpected Messages are Concerning
This is a simple to use inexpensive device that mirrors whatever is showing on your iPhone or iPad’s screen to an HDMI monitor or TV.When I first plugged this adapter into my iPhone and connected it to the monitor a message popped up on the iPhone asking, “Do you trust this computer?”. This was unusual and has only ever appeared before when I connected the phone to my PC - in this instance no computer was involved! I answered in the affirmative, that I did trust the computer, but on reflection this might not have been wise; which computer was I trusting and where was it located? The instructions, pictures of which are attached to this review, include a QR code linking to a site for firmware updates. I didn’t risk using it as the instructions are poorly translated and I wasn’t sure what an “update” would involve. With only the HDMI cable connected the iPhone was not mirrored on the monitor. It only came on when I connected power to the adapter through its Lightning port. After doing this the phone started to charge and shortly afterwards the screen was mirrored. The adapter does get warm in use so it is a good thing that it doesn’t drain the iPhone’s battery. The Lightning plug on the adapter is too large to pass through a standard Apple leather case and I had to remove mine to test it. This is a big negative for me as I don’t like having to remove the case, or use the phone without the protection offered by it.Although it works well I am only giving this three stars because of the unexpected and unexplained message together with the fact that the plug will not fit through my leather case. If you don’t use a case, or have a different one, this should not be an issue. If other reviewers can explain the message I got when this was first plugged in, I would be reassured be told why it popped up and that it is not potentially harmful.

Really useful cable.
Really good quality cable - connects perfectly to display an iPhone or iPad on a screen. Have used it lots and it’s worked perfectly every time!
