Easy to use
I needed a way to reset my internet WiFi router and cable modem from outside the home when nobody is around. Couldn't use a WiFi power switch, since turning off the router kills the WiFi (and wouldn't be able to command it to turn the router back on). So a GSM (text message) controlled relay is what I needed.There are more 'professional' devices available for $150 or so, but I was looking to go cheap.I wired it into a simple extension cord, and got a ThingsMobile SIM card (no monthly fee, $0.10 per SMS message that the device sends, free incoming SMS); I didn't want a monthly fee.The device works as intended! I ended up 3D printing a simple case, as I didn't want 110V to be easily accessible and didn't want the possibility of the unit touching metal and shorting out.It would be extra cool if the source code for the embedded CPU were available, but I understand it isn't.But this device fits my needs 100%, no frills.

Awesome product and simple.
Awesome and simple.I'm using this GSM relay for autostart on my truck.I wired iny key fob to the relay and now I can start my truck from anywhere in the world.It's perfect for me. I work in a warehouse environment and have to park far away. Now I just send a text to my truck about 15 minutes before shift end and get into a nice warm vehicle.Love it.
