Complete failure of half of the bags, get something for heavier duty
Bought these to use for my tent while doing art festivals. A lot of the festivals I do require 40 pound weights, so I bought these to replace some smaller ones I had previously purchased. I bought some bags of paving sand to fill the weights and when I was almost done I still had a bag and a half of sand left. I thought I should weigh a couple of the bags, and I discovered that they were only around 32 pounds each. I thought, well, I guess I can bring my smaller bags along too and use one 30 pound and one 20 pound bag on each leg and have a little over 55 pounds weighing down each corner. The first time I used these, one of the velcro straps came loose from the seam, making a hole in one of the weight bags. After that weekend, I had it repaired, as well as reinforced the entire seam, which seemed a little weak. While setting up for the next festival two weeks later, the seam on the same weight between the cylinder part containing the sand and the middle strap section gave way, making it tough to wrap around the leg snugly. When taking the weights off at the end of the day, another seam in a second weight broke and began spilling sand. So over the course of two festivals I had half of the weights completely fail and become unusable. Save yourself some trouble, spend one more dollar and get more heavy duty weights. Got my replacement weights and they are all double stitched at the seams, double zippered at the openings, are weather sealed on the inside, and the velcro straps are much sturdier. Can not recommend these simply because much better alternatives are available on Amazon for only one dollar more.

Weak around velcro straps
I have been using these about a year now and have had the Velcro straps rip off several times. You need to be very careful to only handle the bags by the top double reinforced loop. If you apply any force to the Velcro straps the seam on the side rips out and the ballast leaks out. I use pea gravel for mine and that seems to work well or at least it is easier to clean up than sand. Luckily my wife can sew and has reinforced the straps so I can keep using these.

Works good. You do have to fill with sand.
These worked great for my pop up canopy on the beach. They come empty. You fill them with your own sand. Which was perfect I just used beach sand and returned when I was done. Pretty sturdy. They are HEAVY when full!

Alright for the price
I filled these and used them for an event. unfortunately when we went to tear down, one of them ripped open a little. No big, I will just sew it or tape it. Other ones are fine, and seem like they will be good for a while. I think I just got one that was a little off.

Total garbage.
I wish I could give this zero stars. These bags 100% fell apart the FIRST time I used them. The velcro straps on all of them ripped out, and the seams busted on all bags despite being a few pounds under filled. Do not waste your time and money on this item. Find a better brand.
