Awesome switch for 2gb service
Don't listen to other reviews saying it's slow or isn't great because this thing has been running strong with 0 issues on my 2gb up/down service which is actually about 2.3-2.4gb. This thing don't even break a sweat. Very well made and strong construction. Very well worth the money

Great 10GBE switch on a budget
I recently built a NAS, and decided it was time to go to 10 GBE on my LAN. I have a Mac Studio, a home-built PC, and a home built NAS, all with 10GBE interfaces. I also have a 1GBE POE switch that powers 8 Raspberry Pis. a work laptop on a docking station, and all of it connects to a router that handles Internet access.First off - I am reviewing the 8 port 10GBE switch. Out of the box, it will work, but may not be set up ideally for your configuration, especially if you want VLANs. If you want VLANs, you will need to have a bit of knowledge to get started - this switch supports them, but the documentation is sparse - be prepared to do some research if you are planning to set them up.I say that from experience, and you can lock yourself out if you do not know what you are doing. Luckily, there is a reset button, and holding it down for a while (20 -30 seconds, I think) will reset the switch to factory settings.Performance has been as expected, and I have not experienced any performance issues so far. I did get CAT 6A cables - I'm not sure you could get 10GB performance out of CAT 5, even with short cable runs. When researching this switch, I saw mention of it being fanless. I would like to state that this is not the case with this switch. I am happy that it has a fan though - I'm not sure I would trust one that is fanless, given that it does produce a little bit of heat. Noise is acceptable to me (it is set up in my bedroom, along with a NAS that is notably louder), but if you are expecting it to be silent, you may be disappointed. Finally, I wanted to talk about the rack mount brackets. I did not put mine in a rack, but I did mount it vertically on a wood surface. The brackets can be attached for a front mount, bottom mount, or top mount configuration. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but I took advantage of it to mount the switch out of sight.

10/10
Build quality is 8/10, heat level is a 10/10, functionality does what it does 2.5Gbps, port capacity is a 10/10 for my servers, and noise level is QUIET. I love it! Connectivity is pretty nice. I do wish the power cable was just a tad bit longer. Thank you!

Affordable and Reliable
Works without issues. I got this specifically to hook up two Ugreen NAS on their 2.5Gb connections.Previously, it took over a day to back up 3TB from one NAS to another on the 1Gb switch I was using. On this switch a full backup ran just overnight and was done before I woke. This was a good deal. Affordable.

Does the job but not ideal
It does work, and is very cheap. You're not going to get the absolute maximum possible performance compared to a quality name brand switch that costs twice as much, but if you don't care about squeezing every last ounce of performance, this switch should do fine.

Great performance at a great price
Great bang for the buck, does eventually what is asked of it. Currently have 2 of the 5 port and 1 8 port in my network, no more bandwidth issues compared to gigabit. Very happy

Great price, not so great experience
I purchased this switch to take advantage of 2.5gb speeds on existing cat5e cabling. Plugged it in, hooked up the ethernet and everything worked great. Fast forward a few days to when I fire up a game on my computer and start experiencing significant lag and ping spikes thinking it had something to do with my router settings. I opened up the game on another device on the same network only to have it run completely fine, so I began focusing on my computer and trying different ethernet adapters and changing system settings with no luck. I finally realized that I hadn’t tested the connection from the ethernet jack to the switch and used an ethernet adapter to plug into the switch using a laptop which showed the same issues as my PC. I bypassed the switch and hooked up directly to the wall jack and everything worked perfectly. Little did I know the source of all my problems was this little unmanaged switch that I didn’t think could mess with my connection this badly. I ended up bringing out my old gigabit switch to test and plugged in all my devices, and everything started working again like before. I learned my lesson on cheaping out on networking gear and got myself another 2.5gb switch from a reputable company and have faced zero issues with that one so far. You’re better off spending an extra $30 or $40 on something that won’t randomly fail on you.

Does what it says and does it well
Having just upgraded my Internet to 2 Gb, I needed faster switches. The switch checks all the boxes. It has the right amount of ports, and I’m getting the speed that I expect. Build quality is fine. Set up was very easy and functionality is perfect.Excellent value for money
