Varied and interesting flavourings; fully organic; high quality
Being a very keen cook, I am always keen to try out alternatives to the spices and flavourings that are commonly found on the supermarket shelves. This bundle of 6 assorted gourmet salts from the Asilia family in Tanzania is priced quite high, however when you read about the family's sea salt farming methods and heritage, it makes a lot of sense that you are paying a premium, because this is a premium product. The flavours in the pack are unique and varied, so you really do have the opportunity to be versatile with your cooking and seasoning. We are particularly fond of the turmeric salt, as this is one of our favourite spices to use in our home cooking. We found that you don't need to use a large amount of the salts to get the effect of the flavour, so each jar will last a while. What we really like about this product is that it contains 100% salt - it gives us confidence that this is an organic product, and with the addition of the farmer's biography, we feel very happy knowing we are adding a high quality product to our food - very important in a world where profit is often put above quality. 5 stars, we highly recommend these salts, and we would love to explore this brand further.

Sustainable, flavoursome sea salt.
I actually wanted this set of flavoured salts for my husband who has recently become very interested in cooking, particularly the experimental kind! It’s coming up to barbecue season, too, which is also very much his domain. These six jars come individually bubble-wrapped and boxed, so all arrived in safe condition. They include a brief bio of the salt’s origins (Tanzania) as well as info about the family (Asilia) and the area where the salt is farmed (Bagamoyo). Makes interesting reading and I think it important to know something about the food we eat.Obviously we haven’t used all the salt yet, but we have had a couple of grains from each jar, just to test. The flavours are very present, but not so strong as to dominate any dish. I think Pepper and Chilli is my favourite - how about that on a barbecued steak?! So these now have pride of place in our kitchen cupboard and I’m sure we’ll have great fun experimenting with all the different flavours.
