Works just like OEM holders.
Solid construction, stays level on the bed, holds negatives securely and does everything the name brand holders do. Great value.

Serves the purpose
Used the product to hold negatives in place while taking their digital pictures using a macro lens. Definitely served the purpose. However, the frame is not very sturdy and the latch for the flip down cover is too stiff. So, it flexes a little too much when opening the holder. If you are not in a great hurry, it is definitely a good and cost efficient product. If you hope to get in and out many film negatives in short time, this may not be the best product for the job.

Good, but could be better
Works well but it is difficult to open. I need to use a small screwdriver to pop it open. There is nothing to grab on to to open it. Other than that it works well. I've used it to digitize about 10,000 negatives with no problems.

Works--holds film
The attached picture was a random ancient color negative held in the holder, photographed at 5 Mpx & converted in GIMP 2.10. Without the holder, it was barely legible. Worth the price.

Did not receive correct product and what I did receive was low quality
Despite the product description, there was no 35mm holder as shown above and only had the slide holders. Some came warped out the box.

Ghost frame around edges when photographed/scanned.
I wonder if the designers of this 35mm Film Holder actually tried their creation. I haven't used the slide holder, so I won't comment on that. But the film strip holder has some major problem. I photographed my 35mm film strip with my mirrorless Z50, on a light table, with a tripod. Every frame/shot has a light ghost around the edges of the image. Probably it comes from the thick plastic frame, reflecting the light onto the film. So every shot has to be cropped a bit around all four edges. (Please see the picture) The film holder snaps well and holds the film strip securely. But to open it is another issue. It's quite hard to open the holder while taking care not to scratch the film in the process. I haven't used other film holders yet, so I don't know if they have the same issue as this one.

Just the ticket
Exactly what my husband was looking for to hold his negatives still in order to photograph and digitize. Simple and effective.
