Well constructed, responsive plane. Not the most necessary tool ever made, chamfering is fairly simple to accomplish without any special tools, but having the tool is always better than not having the tool. The one massive benefit to this is in the general amount of safety provided around the blade. You would have to put some effort into getting cut with this plane compared to other styles and this is absolutely excellent in regards to getting my 5 and 7 year old kids using hand tools. Its not an overly massive chunk of hard to handle steel that offers up cut fingers just from picking it up wrong. They will both be able to handle this safely and get it to work well as a result. This was not the reason I bought it, but after holding it I realized how well it will suit this task. Ill surely use it as well, it does work quite nicely and its bright orange. Easy to spot tools always have a decent chance of being used frequently when other things become invisible for some reason in the shop. Out of the box the blades are good and sharp. We all know that nothing is ever sharp enough and the first thing you will do is take the blades to stone no matter how much it cost or how well it cuts. Its okay, we all do it. But, in the mean time they cut clean and smooth. The unit is machined well and the adjustment wheel is smooth and responsive. It fits comfortably in the hand both as a push and a pull plane. The grooving is smooth and even, so it cuts a symmetrical chamfer. Its bright orange. I like it. Sure is better looking than gross yellow. Blades store on board. Good product, good price.

Just used this to round over the corners of the legs on a coffee table I am building. It is easy to set up and make gradual adjustments to. The blades are sharp out of the box and it is built to last. Great product

Great tool, Cuts smooth right out of the box. Giving a 3 star only due to them shipping two of the 3mm blades and no 6mm. See photo. Otherwise it would be a high 4 or low 5. If the distributor or manufacturer sends a 6mm blade I will correct my rating to a 5. –– Up Dating my rating to a 5. The mfg is sending a replacment blade. One working day response, during the holidays no less. Fantastic service.

The surfaces needed a good bit of flattening and rhe edges were not well honed at all. I completely expected to have to tune it on arrival but the amount of flattening needed surprised me. I am confident it will function fine once well tuned and seemed robust enough for my purposes and minimal level of skill. If you do not know how to tune a plane of hand tool I'd keep looking as this will likely lead to less than ideal results on the finish as delivered. Without the ability to get flattened and honed well beyond a touch up would lead to frustration and likely some ruined projects.

I tested this on three boards of spruce (very soft wood) with 1/4 inch chamfer blade. There are three major issues: 1) The aluminum sole of the plane leaves a trail of aluminum along the work. It is a very fine metal dust that embeds in the wood and requires extensive sanding to remove. It will be much worse with harder woods. 2) There is no way to align the blade with the sole. This is a huge problem because the blade (on mine) is noticeably misaligned with the sole. I've included two photos that show how the blade is misaligned with the sole. 3) Micro adjustments are not predictable and too coarse. While working an edge you are supposed to slowly deploy the blade as you successively cut down. The problem is that while gently rotating the adjustment screw, it will either not lower or it will lower too much and cause tear outs. I used my block plane and minor sanding to greater effect. It was much faster with better results. I 'm now of the opinion that plane soles should never be made of aluminum. It's a terrible idea. Look at the soles of planes with hardened steel - they're all scratched and worn.

Ich bin mit dem Kantenhobel von JORGENSEN sehr zufrieden. Zwar bin ich kein Profi-Handwerker, aber aus meiner Sicht erfüllt das Produkt seine Aufgabe hervorragend. Die Klingen sind scharf und schneiden sauber und präzise. Besonders gut gefällt mir die fein justierbare Höheneinstellung der Klinge, die sich mit einer Rändelmutter leicht anpassen lässt. Das Klingenwechseln ist schnell und unkompliziert. Der Hobel selbst ist gut verarbeitet, liegt gut in der Hand und hat ein massives, robustes Gehäuse. Praktisch ist auch das Fach im Handgriff, in dem die Ersatzklingen ordentlich verstaut sind. Nach rund zwei Wochen intensiver Nutzung kann ich sagen, dass ich dieses Gerät für meine Zwecke jederzeit wieder kaufen würde. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

Zastanawiam się czy na polski rynek nie trafiają produkty o obniżonej jakości. Po.wadliwych szybkościskach teraz mocno niedopracowany strug. Tylko fabrycznie włożone ostrze ma właściwy wymiar. Wszystkie pozostale nie mieszczą się w prowadnicy. Konieczne było przeszlifowanie boków na papierze ściernym. A funkcjonalnie wygrawerowana miara na ostrzach jest absolutnie niewidoczna więc ustawiać trzeba doświadczalne. Ale kolor obudowy ma ładny. Szkoda, że to nie on "robi robotę".
