Sleekest Air Purifier Design,Useful Everyday Functionality & German Engineering is Worth The Price!
I recently purchased the Atem X as I was concerned about the air quality, seeing as I live in the city. Although it was a little pricey, the quality and functionality make this purchase worth it! 1) Monitoring your Indoor Air Quality Remotely is HUGE The Atem X comes standard with an air quality sensor that monitors your AQI ( Air Quality Index), PM2.5 concentration, and CO2 concentration as well as the Temperature and humidity. You can view these readings remotely on IQAir's Air Visual App so when you're not at home and concerned about your indoor air quality, you can remotely control the Atem X to start purifying your air manually. Story Time: I was out and about the weekend after I had purchased my Atem X and noticed that my indoor air quality was at a whopping 150 the outdoor air quality is in the 60-80 range. I knew there was something wrong because the Air Visual App shows me the indoor and outdoor AQI in a side-by-side comparison. Long story short, my bad indoor AQI was a combination of my sister burning something in the kitchen, and my Central AC for the house being clogged up from a bad filter. Without this Atem X, I wouldn't have been able to act on the bad indoor AQI. With the touch of a button, I turned my Atem X on MAX and it cleaned the air quality right away! 2) Smart Mode is a game-changer! The Atem X has a smart mode that can adjust its fan speed based on your Air Quality. Smart mode has 3 different levels, Quiet, Balanced, and Max. I usually keep it on Max as it allows the unit to use all of the available fan speeds to clean your air as needed, which I recommend. 3) No oscillating fan feature, but Atem X's fan is better! I was kind of disappointed that this air purifier/ fan combo did not include an oscillating fan feature. However, once you start using the Atem X you realize that the way this system fans your area is superior to a regular oscillating fan. The Atem X blows air throughout your entire room/ space by increasing circulation with IQAir's flexible air rotation technology. Long story short it blows the air at an angle and the higher the fan speed, the more you feel it throughout the entire room vs. having to wait for the oscillating fan to hit you!

Outstanding product, but watch for warranty issue from some sellers
This is a wonderful air purifier. I've had it running constantly since I received it a couple of weeks ago. It started making a big difference in a couple of days. My allergy symptoms have virtually disappeared (indoors at least). It is obviously removing the pollen, dust and mold from the air in my home. I can see the difference with the dust, and I can feel the difference with the other allergens. The gas/odor filter also works very well. A neighbor's cooking smells are often unpleasant and strong -- this filter made them disappear. The unit is very quiet on the middle and lower speeds, and not bad on the higher speeds. This Swiss-made air purifier appears to be very well made. The materials and construction appear to be high quality. It is an expensive item, but if you live in a region where there is year round pollen, dust and mold, and you are allergic to it all, this is definitely worth the investment. But BEWARE: if you do not purchase this item directly from the manufacturer, or if you select a seller on the Amazon site that is not an authorized dealer, your unit will have no warranty at all. The seller I selected when I bought this unit on Amazon was an Authoruzed dealer, but somewhere along the way, my unit was sold by a different seller that was not even on the Amazon list of sellers. That dealer was not authorized by IQAir. I resolved the issue after speaking with an IQAir rep, who was very professional and attentive. She authorized their basic 1-year limited warranty, but could not offer me their free upgrade to a 10-year warranty. I accepted this offer so I have one year of coverage on this expensive machine, and I did not have to go through the hassle of returning the unit to Amazon, getting a refund, finding another (authorized) seller, and ordering another machine. This air purifier is absolutely worth the investment, but at that price, there should be a warranty. Avoid this problem by either buying direct from the manufacturer or making sure before you buy on Amazon that the seller you select is the one who is your actual seller, and that seller is an authorized dealer. I personally prefer to shop using Amazon Prime. I got my unit at the promised time, very well packaged, and in perfect condition. The seller, when I contacted them by email, was very helpful, but unfortunately was not an authorized dealer. They offered to provide a warranty themselves, but I wanted my warranty directly from the manufacturer. If you prefer, as I did, to buy on Amazon, I think you can go to the IQAir website to find out which Amazon sellers are authorized dealer. I have suggested to Amazon that they make sure someone doesn't switch sellers on you, and that they make it very clear that you are, or are not, buying from an authorized dealer, and the impact that can have on your warranty.

Game changer for indoor air quality
There are two aspects to the "XE" purifier: 1) the actual mechanical unit and it's purifying abilities, and 2) the app control. 1) The air purifying capabilities of this is incredible. We've used cheap air purifiers before and never noticed much improvement. That all changed when we got the HealthPro XE. The quality of the air in the house changed dramatically. Crystal clear. Within hours the "old house smell" was completely eliminated. Pet orders gone. And using an air quality meter confirms that the particles in the air across multiple sizes are pretty much completely eliminated. I was surprised at how quiet it is for it's effectiveness. At first I was skeptical that it would do much given the low velocity of the air coming out of it, but I was wrong. Absolutely incredible, and I am absolutely looking for an excuse to buy another one. 2) The app control works fine, shows indoor vs outdoor air quality, let's you setup schedules or use the "balanced" mode which automatically detects air quality and adjusts fan speed accordingly. We found that balanced mode does not work for orders, though as these are no necessarily particles. With balanced mode, it will keep the fan fairly low and only occasionally increase the speed when we cook something, for example. But with the lower speed, odors are more noticable in the air, even though we've confirmed that the PM1, 2.5, and 10 are all at zero ppm. So, we tend to just keep it at a higher fan speed at all times to get the full effect of mountain fresh, crystal clear air. Ok, maybe I'm being a tad hyperbolic. The air coming from the purifier isn't quite the same as fresh mountain air. It does have a slight oder from the filters themselves. Hard to describe...kind of like a clinical smell you'd find in a hospital where these are used. But it's not offensive, and overall the air quality is noticably better / different than without using it. Only downside is that the app doesn't seem to connect to the device when not connected to the same WiFi network. E.g., I can't turn the purifier on/off when away from the house. It'd be great if we had remote control over the Internet instead of just the local network. I think every house and apartment should have one of these to improve air quality. Seriously, if you can afford it, don't look any further. You will not regret it.

More like 40% actual filtration, and IQAir support doesn't believe in science.
I've been working with a professional air quality tester who is helping me track down what is causing my serious allergies in my house. He recommended that I purchase an IQAir HealthPro Plus unit to help give me some relief from my allergies as we work to determine their source. After receiving the unit, I followed the instructions and got the unit running. I left it running for over 5 hours and planned on running it much longer, however my allergies increase greatly. I could tell the unit was just stirring up the air. The next day the professional air quality tester got out his commercial grade Particulate Matter (PM) reader. This thing costs $5500 and $500/year to calibrate. It uses laser sensors to read the particulate matter counts at a large range of sizes. We ran a series of tests: 1 at the input of the HealthPro and 6 more around the top of the unit where it outputs the filtered air. We did this at the highest fan speed. This is the same testing IQAir claims they do in their documentation when you receive your unit. We saw only a consistent ~40% reduction in PM. This is nothing close to the 99% reduction that IQAir rated my specific unit as being able to achieve. So, the reality is that the unit is stirring up 60% of the allergens and blowing them around the room. I scheduled a "virtual appointment" with IQAir to discuss the problem. The IQAir representative did not show up for the meeting after waiting for about 10 minutes. I reach her instead on the online chat on IQAir's website. She said we was stuck on a call. She never attempted to reach out to me. I decided to call IQAir's support. Support proceeded to tell me I wasn't using the unit correctly. They said I needed to *open the windows* on my house for the unit to filter properly. Seriously? Open the windows? I informed them that it is 20 degrees outside (and I’m not sure how this filter could work to filter out wildfire smoke if the windows have to be open). I asked why the unit would require the windows to be open. Support wasn't too clear on this point but it sounded as if they were saying the unit cannot keep up with the possible influx of new allergens and i need fresh air coming into the house to help reduce the allergens. This makes no sense to me. Either the filters work at 97-99% or they don't. I was taking all the PM measurements right at the input and output of the unit, not just any place in the room. Nowhere in the IQAir literature do they mention this sort of limitation or best practice of needing to "open the windows." The call ended with support. Later, IQAir’s representative who missed the virtual meeting then called me and sent me back to support, I mean why not, I love punishment. I next spoke with a second person at support and told them the problem again. This time they gave me a whole new story. They ask how big the room was that I tested the unit in and I told them 12x12. Support said I had the unit on too high for the room size and that this would cause the unit to be unable to filter the air passing through the unit properly. I have no idea how the room size could impact the filters since the amount of air passing through the unit would be the same regardless of the room size; it all has to do with how much air the unit’s fan is pushing through the unit, not the size of the room. I asked support if they could explain the relationship of room size to airflow but they couldn’t. I asked them what room size they use in testing, but they didn’t know. So, now I had two completely different answers from support that both make no scientific sense. However, both answers blamed me for the problem by implying that I didn’t use the unit properly. I will again note that nowhere in manual does IQAir tell you that room size can be too small nor that you need to open the windows. Somehow users are supposed to know these obviously important things; but honestly I think these items would make it difficult for anyone to take IQAir seriously and they refuse to print them. In the end, IQAir did offer a full refund and return, which I will be taking advantage of; though the first support representative didn’t even offer this. Only the second one. This leaves anyone considering buying this unit a huge question as to how IQAir makes their claims of any level of filtration. Open windows and only in large enough rooms appear to be factors that must be considered…if you don’t believe in science!

The absolute cleanest air!
I absolutely love IQ Air. The quality is superior to that of any other air purifier I’ve ever owned. This is my second IQ Air. The best part is that the addition of great quality is their convenience app, which tells you the air quality both outside and inside your home. IQAir GV may seem significant as it’s about 3’ x 14”, the moment you plug it in, you know help is on the way for the quality of air in your place. After about an hour, a massive difference in the air quality is noticeable. Allow your app an hour to update the air quality in your home. With the automatic settings, the speed will adjust as needed, either lowering it when necessary or increasing it when required. It is super quiet. It makes sleeping very easy and much more comfortable knowing that the air is clean and being monitored. The ease of use was crucial when I decided to purchase another IQ Air; the app tells you which filter needs to be replaced. The good news is you have over a year for some of the filters before needing to replace them. The convenience, the quietness, and the fact that it keeps the room cleaner with less dust all enhance my sleep quality. I highly recommend this product for anyone with allergies who wants to improve their quality of life.

Clean crisp air!!
This has been running 24/7 since 2021. Only turned off, is when filters are changed out. If we have a problem, we are not sure....as the air is cleared up continuously. Located in basement, in corner of family room/bar area and directly next to mechanical room. 2 cats in the home, Montana - known for black mold....(yeah, it's real). Moisture is not your friend. Nevertheless, we have no issues, no dander, dusting is minimal and guests with proven allergies aren't sniffling and they state they didn't take any medication. We also have smaller versions in bedrooms. This is the gold standard!! Buy and breathe clean air!

2 YEAR REVIEW
It has been running 24/7 on the middle setting for 2 years straight. Not a decibel louder, zero problems. The amount of crap this thing inhales is amazing. I have a single cat in the house, pretty sure I’m allergic to it, but the iqair consumes the bulk of the allergens. It is a quality unit, no doubt. The downside, maintenance. The filters are quality as well, and not cheap. I’ll probably spend as much on filters as I did for the machine in the next year or so. I’ve replaced all of the filters at this point, pre-filter multiple times. The filter cost hurts but I’m not going to stop using the machine because of the cost but I can see where it would be difficult for some families; the hyperhepa alone is $200. You can get knock off filters on Amazon but they aren’t that much cheaper, I just go with the real ones. The washable filter machines sound great, but they emit harmful ozone, this machine does not. I’m considering one of those for by my woodstove and I’ll keep running the IQair in my living area. Overall, I’m very happy with the machine. I would be happier if they sold a complete replacement filter bundle for around $100. The filter costs are painful.

A fire season must-have in NorCal
This machine is seriously the creme de la creme of air purifiers. We have had a few different types of air purifiers in our home but nothing quite like this. I really feel like I have peace of mind with this unit especially with fire season looming right around the corner. The last two fire seasons in Northern California have been absolute nightmares with extremely hazardous air quality reaching hundreds of miles out. Being stuck inside the house during fire season is becoming the norm and if you aren't armed with good air filters, it's not that much better inside either. That smoke is so thick and so gross. If you have lived through this and you are reading this, you know exactly how bad it gets. My daughter was 10 months old our first fire season up here and I wish I had this air purifier then. She's two and a half now and I feel so much better knowing we have this in the house. We keep it at the lowest setting (1), which is super quiet. It doesn't even sound like it's on but when you get up to setting 3 and up, you definitely know it's on. It's still relatively quiet at 3 but 6 is not quiet at all. When the air starts getting really bad though, I'm not gonna mind a little noise if it means knowing my child is breathing clean, filtered air. The unit was really easy to set up and the remote is pretty self explanatory and user friendly. The unit is pretty big for an air purifier but we have it in a corner in place of an end table and it looks fine. It's a bit pricey but, like I said, if it means my child is breathing clean air, it's worth it's weight in gold. I highly recommend this air purifier if you live in Northern California or live somewhere with bad fire seasons. They seem to be getting worse every year. Protect yourself.
