Great story
Well it's all going on in this story romance, underhanded dealings, politics and war. Ella and Cadet come through it all, I just kept on reading.

An Insightful, Fascinating Story
Lady Ella Stockwell, a diamond of the ton, first met Caden Seaton, Lord Mersey the previous year in the ballrooms of London where she found him to be cynical, arrogant and generally insufferable. Their next meeting however is when he is a recovering patient in the military hospital at Moonstone Landing. He is still as rude and insufferable as ever but she can see in his eyes that he is suffering from more than just his physical injuries. Unbeknownst to her, Caden fell for her almost at first sight, before his Regt was shipped off to Africa and thoughts of her have stayed with him over the months but his body, his mind and his life are in far too much of a mess for him to commit to her. Over the weeks of his healing, Ella visits on a daily basis and they fall in love but still Caden won’t commit and his knowledge of what needs to be done to stop another tragedy and, the danger that might bring to Ella, makes him even less likely to speak up.An insightful, fascinating story with family and love at its heart.I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this story from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Simply brilliant, angsty and emotional
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋This is a wonderful, slightly angsty book from Meara.More so than her others in my mind.Beautifully written with some great phrases, my favourite being, ‘breathlessly undertook their romantic exertions’,Just perfectly described. The characters are very charming.Ella, the little girl now grown to a woman, a diamond, is beautiful, patient, thoughtful, and very supportive. She’s everything I expected her to be.Caden is a powerful personality, brave but very understated, intelligent and charismatic. They compliment each other so well on so many levels. This is an amazing read, don’t miss it .I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Great fun
We are back at Moonstone Landing for this historical romance. It is a garrison town on the Cornish coast. A military hospital has been built there. The town itself is a beautiful peaceful place that helps most to recover. There are two families that are at the heart of the town. You will love both of them. Some of those that pass through the town find reasons to stay.Apart from the families and town that link the series, it is easy to read each book on its own.All the characters are fabulous and lots of fun. The storyline is interesting and important.Great fun.

Suspend all your knowledge of period and history
Based very loosely indeed on the horrendous experiences of the secretary to the general commanding the first Anglo Ashanti war but without apparently knowing that the idiot commanding the anglo South African (not British army) troops was trying to stop the slave trade. Plot fun, characterisation and behaviour ignores period as in the rest of this series, language modern high school American, sex - her heroines howl instead of screaming which I suppose makes a change from others of writing in this particular variation on the regency genre. Jane Austen, or even Georgette Heyer it isn’t but if you want a couple of lightweight hours of romp at bedtime with pretty if impossible scenery, tiny beautiful heroine and hunky heroes you’ll enjoy it.Sometimes I wish writers in this genre would look at the syphilis rates in Regency England before they hand their heroines to reformed rakes

Love at first sight
A well-written story with many ups and downs. It also gave a history of Britain's soldiers's lives and how greedy some royalist could be in war time. The hero in the story did his part in getting Parliament to change this action. Great job Meara.

Wonderful romance
A beautiful romance filled with rich dialogue, scenery and characters that make you want to go visit the charming seaside village of Moonstone Landing. Caden and Ella are perfect for each other but need to trust in their hearts and believe. A wonderful journey and equally wonderful happily ever after.
