Very useful, but handle falls off
UPDATE: I've bought this product almost half a dozen times now. It's great. But the handle always falls off sooner or later. The most recent one I got, I just picked it up the first time and it fell off. Just be prepared for this. I don't know why everyone doesn't mention it -- again, it's happened on every one of these I've bought. I'm definitely going to be gluing this most recent one back together.I am going to start trimming my own horses. I got a standard rasp, but as an average-sized woman with ponies and small horses, it was difficult for me to use. I like that I can use this one-handed (and use the other hand to make the twitchy pony hold still). It's nice and sharp and it does a great job. Very easy to use. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is a bit intimidated by larger rasps. The only thing is the handle falls off. Mine fell off the third time I used it. I just picked it up and it fell off. I just jammed it back in and it's been fine since. Unless you're planning on re-using the handle or metal part independently, I think you could just send some super glue down there and glue it together, so it's not that big of a deal. But, because of this, I can't give it five stars.

Dull and useless
Rasp was so dull and the handle does not stay on. My ponies don't have difficult feet and it still took too much effort to get anything shaved away.

Made great

Sharp but the handle doesnโt stay on
This is a nice, sharp rasp that is easy to hold since it is shorter than typical hoof rasps. Only complaint I have, is the rasp jiggles around in the handle, and I have to keep pushing the rasp back down into the handle.

Control and ease of use
I have a mule. Mules have small and hard feet compared to horses. She goes barefoot and I exclusively trim her feet. She rides rugged trails a couple times a week. I donโt use a nippers in fear I could cut too deep. I only use a rasp and a left and right handed hoof knife to trim her frogs. My 14 inch rasp was difficult to handle and control. With this rasp I can use one hand as I hold her hoof steady in the hoof jack with the other. It cuts hard hoof like a hot knife going through butter. The rubber handle provides an excellent grip. This rasp is so much better than my old one. An excellent product for ladies or older folks like me who donโt have the hand strength they use to. An excellent product.

Rasp handle poor quality
The rasp works great and is really good for small hands. The only issue was during the first use the handle cracked and came off the rasp.

Perfect for someone who has no idea what they are doing!
I have no idea what I am doing, however, I use this to knock of chips and whatnot when my barefoot little mare gets such things. My farrier has said to keep doing what I'm doing so I suppose thats good! I just take off a little at a time to clean things up. the small size of this makes it perfect for the task. It does hurt when you hit your knuckles, my farrier suggested leather gloves, but im cheap so ill probably just keep ending up with bloody knuckles. Great buy!

Small enough for a woman's hands
Used it to rasp the rough edges of a healing split on my Thoroughbred's hoof. Easy to hold, small enough for my elderly hands and sharp!

Have had it for about a month. Seems to be working well so far. Like other reviews have stated the handle fell off the first time I used it
