I resisted buying this razor as I believed it was unnecessary to add another one to the seven I already own.However . . . . I also reasoned the existing crop of razors perform differently to each other so another one would add a nice touch to the weekly rotation.The head of this model is very similar to the Edwin Jagger DE89 BUT there are some very minor differenceswhich I did not think would translate through to the shaving experience. After all, the differences were minor.The handle gives a really nice grip - even when wet - and looks quite different to all the other razors. Its also surprisingly weighty but without being cumbersome in any way. Its also a thicker handle than any of my razors so I had to re-drill my wooden stand (holds 5 razors) for it to fit. Its the 1st razor on the left in the image.In use the razor performs extremely well - that small visual difference does indeed "make a difference" and I found the shave to be quite smooth but very effective. I did half my face with this razor and then switched the blade to my DE89 for the other half - just to compare.It produced a good clean, close shave with no irritation and felt very smooth when moving across the skin.It might be the weight of the handle OR the small head difference OR a combination of both, but the result for me was a much nicer shave than the DE89.I used Proraso cream with a boar hair brush as I normally do to ensure a consistent comparison.Would I recommend this razor - yes absolutely.Reviews are seldom updated - but I find (when they are) they often temper the initial enthusiastic review with something more down to earth.UPDATE: After several shaves - using different soaps and creams - applied with different brushes (Badger, Boar and synthetic) I can say this razor now comfortably sits as my preferred unit.I have a range of blades - all tried with this NEO and worked as expected with the exception of the Japanese Kai blade which left my skin feeling in desperate need of a balm.Other than that - this is a fine razor - works well, looks nice.Still recommended.

I have been a devotee of traditional shaving for over ten years. In that time I have experimented with various brushes and razors. All have performed well. However, this razor raises the bar to the next level. Essentially a razor is only as good as the blade inside it. Nevertheless, the way this razor is weighted, its length and grip give you a much greater sense of control. Well worth the money.

Fabulous smooth shave. No nicks or cuts

After a lot of research on the Mühle range, I decided with this Neo variant as my first double edge razor. As someone who shaves daily this was perfect, no more razor burns and a very close shave.I highly recommend this as an introduction to double edge razors, especially as it offers the same R89 closed comb razor head as the more expensive variant; whilst not compromising on quality.

If you're reading this review. Just buy it. You won't regret it. Sure, there are other similar products available, but you don't want those.I was a little apprehensive as this was my first non-disposable razor. It's actually really easy to use and gives a great close shave.Great manufacturer, one of the originals and best in the world. Build quality is unquestionably good.

For many years I've used an electric shaver and then a disposable if needed when travelling etc. but this is a lovely quality, sturdy razor which could well be the last one I'll ever need. Feels really nice in the hand, well weighted and great to use. You obviously need to use high quality blades with it but I don't think I'll ever be buying a disposable plastic razor again!

You can tell this is a high quality safety razor as soon as you pick it up. It has a reassuringly weighty feel to it that tells you its made from a solid lump of steel and feels like its going to last a long time. The chrome plating is very well done and everything is precisely made and fits together perfectly. The rubber grip is a nice touch and gives a good grip even when wet. Overall I am very happy with this and despite owning a few, this is the one I reach for every time as it just feels good to handle and gives a nice close shave.The only negative I can think of is that it would have been nice to include some blades to get you started. There is even a space at the bottom of the box that would have been ideal to put them.

I’ve been interested in moving over to safety razors for years now, but was always but off by them being too expensive or cheaper but poor quality. This is a nice middle range where it is good enough value to feel confident using, whilst not having any regrets if you just don’t get the hang of it.The razor feels solid and durable, whilst being comfortable to hold with one hand. With the razor you are provided 1 blade, although for the price a couple would have been appreciated! Using the razor feels safe whilst providing a much closer shave than the standard ones I’ve been using for all these years - not to mention it looks a lot cooler!Recommend overall.
