ASICSMen's Gel-Kayano 31 Running Shoes

The good:These are easily the most comfortable shoes I ever tried. Plenty of cushion from the back all the way to the front of the foot. When barefoot, my feet are relatively flat and I tend to pronate. So, these shoes are great for the stability and resistance against overpronation, is very noticeable, unlike other brands I tried in the past.The not-so-good:The tongues are relatively thin, which make them prone to folding if caution isn't taken when putting these shoes on. This is easily remedied by just taking an extra moment to drag and smooth the tongues in a better position when putting the shoes on. But, it'd just be nice if the tongues had slightly more shape retention through better padding seen in other brands. Overall, this is minor, but an unnecessary matter in the first place.The outer soles squeak, squeak, and squeeeeak. To be fair, this is only present on very smooth surfaces like tile. These shoes are, probably, mostly designed for running on tracks, streets, forest trails, grass, etc. where this wouldn't even come up. However, if you ever want to wear these while working in a hospital or office setting, prepare for squeak city. This is also an unnecessary matter since there are plenty of processes that add microscopic dimples, ridges, grooves, etc. to outer soles during the manufacturing process to avoid this in the first place like other brands do.In all fairness, neither of these points count against what the shoes are designed for, so I wouldn't count them against the score in the this review. It's just extra insight for the curious would-be buyer and hopeful insight for the company to constructively grow if they ever somehow see this review.Bottom line:These shoes are well worth the purchase and I am glad to have them.

I'm not a runner, but I've been using ASICS Gel-Kayano shoes for long distance walking for the past several years. They have always been the best fitting athletic shoes for my narrow size 9C feet. I also have a low instep and slight pronation.When my Gel-Kayano 28s wore out, I got both the 30 and 31 to compare them. When they feel similar, the 31s have noticeably improved cushioning. Walking in them is like walking on air! For me, they were worth the extra price over the 30 which I returned. The one advantage of the 30 is a much broader selection of colors.For those used to Gel Kayano model 29 and older, keep in mind that Asics totally redesigned the shoe starting with model 30. 31 is similar to 30 with a few enhancements. Check the online reviews comparing 29 to 30 to make sure you understand what you will be getting. I really appreciate the extra cushioning in the recent models.Highly recommended!

Did some research on shoes for walking and narrowed in on these. They are lightweight, look really nice and the most comfortable shoes I've worn. I do a lot of morning walking now and I actually look forward to wearing these shoes. Outstanding quality. I usual size is 9.5 but had to go with a 10 ,that's a perfect fit. I absolutely recommend them.

These are once again one of the very best running shoes. For guys that were a 2e these are perfect for a slightly wide no arch foot. Extremely comfortable and well-made. This is the best running shoe for the money period.

These are good comfortable running shoes. They support over pronation very well. In my opinion the toe box is a bit narrow. I have owned a pair of regular wide, wide and extra wide now. The extra wide has worked best for me so far. I put a little more than 30 miles per week in these shoes. It seems like I get about 3 great months before the shoe support starts breaking down.

Have been using ASICS for years and this is a good stability and support shoe. Seemed to run a bit bigger and wider than usual. I gave it 4 stars because although I kept the pair, it wasn’t a perfect fit as my past kayanos.

These shoes are amazing! They fit true to size and they feel like I am walking on clouds. Highly recommend.

I'm a tall guy with big feet (size 16 US), and these fit perfectly. My only gripe is that there's too much cushion between foot and ground. This can lead to long term foot issues, sprained ankles, etc.

Quality shoes for Weekly Running/Jogging. Achieved 9kms on a first day. The comfort of wearing and the lightness when you move will bring you further the excitement for next run.^___^Thanks
