I love that it lights up, and it's solar powered nonetheless! When I was putting it together, I was worried that the shadow of the numbers on each side not matching up would show through, and it did, but outside you can't tell, and when it's lit you don't see it at all. Instead of placing it on top of my mailbox, I put it underneath in front, vertical. Unfortunately the sun doesn't hit it directly, so it doesn't stay lit all night, so I might move it to the top of the mailbox as shown or the back side of the pole. It lasts for a few hours in the evening until maybe 1-2 am, and it's not like it's absolutely necessary since cars have headlights and everyone is asleep then anyways. It will be particularly helpful in the winter with longer nights for grocery orders or guests. If you live in the country and have a somewhat hard mailbox or driveway to find, this could help it stand out, particularly for newcomers. The stickers are easy to remove and re-stick if you mess up, but stay solidly on. The guides are really helpful, but since I did mine vertical, I had just enough space for 3 numbers to go diagonally. Vertical would not work for 4 numbers, though I should specify that it isn't meant to be installed vertically since, as I mentioned, the sun doesn't hit it directly and it may not be able to charge fully. There are plenty of spare stickers to redo it if something went awry. It has three different light colors. I chose the blue-tinted light. This really makes my mailbox stand out from the others. It has a clean cut, crisp feeling. It has survived the rainy weather well. It has stayed pretty humid here and I don't see any type of water damage. I've had it for a couple weeks now. You can prevent it from lighting at night by turning it off. There is a button underneath the solar panel area that is easy to press and rubber covered that changes the light colors or turns it off. I got it to start lighting up for a minute or two after a couple minutes in the sunlight when I took it out of the box. It's easy to install. Put the end pieces onto the sign and screw them into place. This is an awesome gift for a new homeowner or anyone looking to redesign their mailbox.

I love this thing! I loved the idea of it, but I had some trepidation. Would it look cheesy, gauche, gaudy? Would it stand out *too much* saying "look at me!"? And I'm happy to say the answers are no and no .. this thing is perfect.During the day it just looks like any other number sign. At night, it's backlit just enough to be perfectly visible, without feeling like it's being "showy" about it. As you drive by, you wouldn't even notice it -- you will see the number perfectly if you're looking for it, but it could just be a highly reflective material that shows up well under headlights, for all you know.The unit is super simple to install. One thing, they include a couple of self-tapping screws, and they tell you to use those screws essentially to drill the holes, and then pull them out and replace them with the machine screws which will take the butterfly nuts. Which ok, I suppose that is a fine way to tell people to do it, if they don't have a drill. But if you have a drill, just drill the holes, it will save you some headache.As far as charge time -- I have not had any issues at all there. My street is somewhat shady, the mailbox gets partial sun depending on the time of day. And we've had several overcast or rainy days here lately. And I tend to be up until the wee hours of the morning, often through until sunrise -- and I have not yet seen the thing turn off before morning.Just a champion product all around, super pleased. I'd give it a sixth star if I could.

Our neighborhood had free reflective house number installs but we missed the sign up. After having to call 911 once and realizing how important it is for emergency and delivery workers to be able to see your house number, especially at night, we decided to do something. We ordered this and I honestly was skeptical about the quality but was NOT disappointed. I did have to use a drill and a drill bit We were not making holes with just a screwdriver even with the puncturing sharp nails that came with this package. You would switch them out with the dull end nails so as not to be a hazard. But as long as you have the tools and the direct sunlight you need to charge it, you’ll be very happy with this product. We haven’t touched it since the install and it’s out there just shining all night every night. It literally is ready to shine out of the box (ours even had a bit of a charge upon delivery) and it was so easy to put our numbers in. Love!
