Q: What cable and where can i get one to run this to a motu m2 balanced? 3.5mm balances to 1/4 trs balanced?

The motu m2 does not have a balanced connection, you cant run balanced headphones on it

Yes, the pads are removable, and I would say that for Fostex RP series headphones, replacing them is a necessity. (I prefer the Dakoni pads). You just peel the pads off by gently tilting one corner outward until it begins to let go, then easing it off. They have a thin leather lip that sits inside a groove. It does take a little finesse to get the new pads on, but if you take your time, it's not very difficult.
