Versatile and durable Axe – A must-have for outdoor enthusiasts
I recently got this splitting axe for a 5 days forest expedition with my friends. This tool has quickly become an essential tool for all my camping and outdoor adventures. This axe is not only well-made but also incredibly versatile, making it perfect for a wide range of tasks.Sharp and Strong:The blade is made from high-quality stainless steel, which is extra durable and strong. I’ve used it to split firewood, chop branches, and it has performed flawlessly every time. The tall grind ensures that the blade stays sharp longer, and the black titanium plating gives it excellent resistance to rust and wear. This axe is built to last.Comfortable and Secure Grip:The handle is crafted from high-quality materials. The non-slip textured surface provides a comfortable and secure grip, even when using the axe for extended periods. I especially appreciate the ergonomic design, which helps absorb shock and reduces fatigue. The added nail puller at the end of the handle is a handy feature.Portable and Easy to Store:One of the things I love about this axe is how easy it is to carry and store. It comes with a durable kydex sheath that keeps the blade protected and secure when not in use. This also protects from accidentally touching the blade, especially, when you have children at home.Multifunctional Tool:This axe is more than just a tool for chopping wood. It also functions as a hammer and nail puller, making it incredibly versatile. Whether I’m setting up camp, working on a DIY project, or just need a reliable tool for various outdoor tasks, this axe does it all.Perfect for Camping and Gardening:I’ve used this axe for everything from chopping firewood to trimming branches in my garden, and it excels in both settings. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and gets the job done efficiently. It’s also a great gift idea for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.Overall, I highly recommend to anyone who spends time outdoors or needs a reliable axe for camping, gardening, or survival situations.

Quality Hatchet, Super Sharp!
While looking for a hatchet to take river camping, I came across this one that seemed to check all the boxes I was looking for: Waterproof handle, sheath with clip, hammer, and the ability to hold behind the cutting edge.Being a tool snob though, I set my expectations low and waited for it to arrive. It showed up in a simple box, but very nicely packaged. The Kydex sheath that it comes with the hatchet fits it PERFECTLY. The sheath also incorporates a couple of grommets and slots for securing it however you might want to. On the back of the sheath is about the coolest belt clip I've ever seen. It's hinged, locking, and adjustable. I have faith that wherever it gets put, it's going to stay.Removing the sheath I found a cutting edge that's been ground one step below a full mirror polish-something I certainly did not expect. That was not nearly as surprising as how sharp this thing was out of the box--it easily slices paper like a kitchen knife.I really like the milled face on the hammer side, it's similar to my framing hammer and keeps the hammer from slipping off what it's hitting. The handle has a nice feel, it's easy to hold in 3 different positions and the material has a good texture and nice machining. The only thing I found I don't like about this is directly related to my use. With the nail puller/pry bar at the end of the handle having a sharp end, I'm terrified of dropping it and putting it through a raft. So I'll be cutting that off and grinding it smooth so I don't have to worry.Overall I'm really happy with this hatchet and pleasantly surprised by the quality.

Another Great Product From HX!
I have gotten several bushcraft knives from HX through the Vine program and have came to really like them as a company. They always seem to come out with really good affordable knives and now even a camping hatchet. Everything I've gotten from them has been very well made and a lot of bang for the buck. This hatchet is no exception! It comes super sharp and has a perfect (machine made) grind to it. The handle is thin, but offers plenty of grip and feels good in the hand. It would also be great and easy to wrap it in paracord if you wanted to. The hammer head and pry bar end will be perfect for hammering in and removing tent stakes. The holster is nicely made, firmly holds the hatchet even without the straps, and the clip is adjustable and easily attaches to your belt. They did make sure to design and make it where the hammer head sticks out of the holster so that you can safely hammer with it without accidently chopping yourself in the face! The hatchet also just simply looks great with it's kinda tacticool look it has. The only reason I took a star away (which breaks my heart to have to do to HX) is because I feel they are being misleading about two things. First of all, and the biggest reason, is this is not and never will be a "splitting axe"! None of these stamped metal hatchets of any brand are for splitting. They are absolutely terrible for that. They are just too thin. Sure it will split very small pieces of soft wood or cut branches up to about 2.5 inches max into kindling. However that is absolutely it and that's even pushing it. I tried to get it to split a small and nicely dried wedge of fire wood and after about 15 whacks to each end I gave up. It just sticks and that's it. A normal splitting axe or hatchet would have popped that little dry piece of wood apart in one effortless whack. Now this hatchet is great at chopping. That is what these kind of hatchets are for, chopping and shaping wood, but not splitting. The second thing is where they are showing to put your finger in the hole at the top. That is not going to happen while using it! For one thing it's not in the right location for that and it is extremely uncomfortable and even painful. It would also probably tear your knuckle to ever loving pieces if you actually tried it. That hole is for hanging it, not for putting your finger through. Other than that though I think it is a great and well made camping hatchet. Overall I really like it for that purpose and I would recommend giving it a try.Just don't be stupid like me and 5 minutes into testing it let it go into the ground and hit a rock! Oh I was so mad at myself!! I do have a small ding in my edge now, but it isn't too bad and I will be able to sharpen it out over time. I only cried for 2-3 minutes then I was ok.
