A superior pair of running & sport earbuds
I was getting rather tired of my few pairs of cheap earbuds having used them daily and not really getting a great quality sound in return, so I decided to take the plunge on a premium pair and chose the Bose SoundSport. Being a runner and highly active I used my earbuds mostly while exercising or at the gym so I wanted to stay with a smaller compact earbud style as opposed to something clunky. My main concerns were:- "Open" earbuds that stay hanging on your ears likely lose a lot of quality with sound escaping the ear canal- "Closed" earbuds that use some sort of silicon seal have a very strong occlusion effect that ruins the listening experience with the sound of your own breathe and footstep thuds... ugh- Also these closed style earbuds block out ambient noise which could be dangerous while running, riding a bike, etc.- The sealed earbuds are sometime prone to popping out of your ear with any slight tug on the cordI settled on this Bose pair because they were one of the few options that seemingly solved all of those issues. I've used these for a year now and I am extremely satisfied with them. The sound quality is excellent, I have never had an issue with them falling out, the fit is perfect (they come with 3 different sized tips), they are easy to put in and take out, and the control bar on the cord is SUPER useful. These have solved all of those issues and are a nice looking pair of headphones as well with some subtle but helpful bonus features such as the adjustable clothing clip, carrying case, and extension cord. Some other reviewers have mentioned problems with the audio jack. I do wish Bose had designed the plug with an angled jack instead of a straight jack because if you keep this in your pocket I could see how it might get worn out from all the friction. All I can say is use the carrying case and take decent care of the headphones and you should have minimal issues. Great headphones otherwise and I highly recommend them.

Finally, the perfect earphones for running!
I've tried many varieties of earphones but Imost don't fit me all that well, and most don't stay in place after 5 minutes of exercise. I have tried triple flanges, foam inserts of all shapes, and over the ear loops but I've never made it through an entire run without having to readjust at least a few times. The Bose SoundSports are the first pair that fit so well that I can barely feel them. They were perfectly comfortable and extremely stable in my ears. I ran 5 miles and got very sweaty and there was no movement or slippage at all. They come with three sizes and the soft silicone inserts. They hold the earphones solidly in place without exerting pressure. I could't even shake them loose when I tried.I had previously used Shure SE215s and the sound was richer and they had better base, but the SE215s are sound isolating and these Bose are not. For running I actually prefer to have a little ambient sound get through for safety, and the sound quality of the BOSE is still excellent. If you like heavy base you might be a little disappointed. The cable is sturdy and there is a straight jack so it should fit through most phone cases. The volume and mic controls are light but sturdy feeling. They also come with a small alligator clip to keep the cord from tugging, which is nice. I just got them so I can't comment on durability, but so far they are the best running phones I've had.

Not bad
I like this because I can work out with it and dont have to worry about sweat damaging it. The buds dont have a snug fit to them, and allow for some space, but maybe that is how they're designed. They've never come out of my ears. The sound is great. The remote works well, so I can skip, pause, rewind to a different track or radio station. I use these with an iPod, not an iPhone. I also use them with my android phone just for talking, and have no problem with that as well. I do recommend this product.

Super disappointed
I recently purchased these as an upgrade from the earbuds that came with my iPhone. With 4 and a half stars and at $150 bucks I had high hopes that thes would be a serious improvement. They sounded ok but it wasn't any improvement over my stock headphones. My major complaint is that there was zero bass response. Less actually than my Apple stock headphones. Again they were ok but for$150 bucks I expected better.

Great replacement for ie2 earbuds
My previous Bose ie2 earbuds lasted 3 years under everyday use and fairly frequent abuse, like wearing them while sweating in the full sun mowing the lawn (under hearing protection) and weedwacking. At last the wire coating leading to the earbuds began to disintegrate. I had come to rely on them so much that I had to replace them immediately, and I sprung for the slight upgrade to the SoundSport model.I'm glad I did, for several reasons. First, these are clearly designed to be used a bit more aggressively, as I had been using them. Second, and I did not realize this until I received them, this comes with a 21" extension cable. I can now plug these into my computer tower that sits on the floor and listen to audio without having to lean over. There's a convenient mesh pouch inside the earbud case that I put the extension cable into, so I don't have to untangle the earbuds if I don't want the extension. The case also includes a carabiner, which is handy for attaching to a belt loop rather than putting it in a pocket. As usual, Bose thinks of just about everything. Finally, the audio controls for my iPod Classic are quite convenient. While riding to work, I can leave the "hold" button on, play and pause my music from the controls by the right earbud, and be assured after I unplug the earbuds that I won't accidentally hit "play" and drain the iPod battery. (Not that that's, um, happened before.)The sound quality is a slight but noticeable upgrade from the ie2 as well, particularly in stereo isolation. I'm still discovering nuances in music I've listened to for years. Great product, highly recommended.
