Icy Cools Ice Bandana

Hubby loves how this keeps him cool and glad it comes in two packs! Bought one for my HVAC working son as well who also loves how it keeps him chilled in hot attics and under houses. Great gift for the outdoor workers!

I love this icy cools ice bandana! I have gotten 2 others before this one and loved them so much that I bought this one as another one to have on hand ... and I do plan on getting more. I use them for headaches, and wrap the ice bandana around my forehead (as tight as I can). They work really well, and I rely on them when I have a bad headache because I know they work for me. After a little while the headache is mostly gone. I like them better than regular ice packs because I don't have to use my hands to keep it on my forehead; it just wraps around it, leaving my hands free to do whatever. Once out of the freezer and wrapped around my head, it stays cold for about a half hour (max). So I would definitely recommend these, especially if you are someone looking for an ice pack to help with headaches ... all you do is wrap it around your forehead. I would suggest getting 2 of them though, so after using one, there is another one ready to put on your head (that is already frozen). You can alternate with them. They done re-freeze in a half hour, but after an hour they do.

one thing i've learned about the reviews is you have to take the good with the bad.. some people are just not happy with anything, some seem to give reviews that are too good, or they're trying to increase their 'vine' rating etc.. But having tried this out for myself in tropically humid 85* Florida, I have to say it works about as well as you can expect it to work. For other climates that are more dry, the evaporating bandanas seem to work well.. but in areas with higher humidity, you can't rely on evaporation to keep cool.. here where I am, the solid freezing ice packs are the way to go.. and that's what this is. I tried it out last night on a 2 mile brisk walk and upon finishing about 45 minutes later, the pack was still cold and only melted about 3/4 of the way through. The only odd thing to get used to is you have the feeling of wearing a scarf and your mind can't get around that it's not something that is raising your temperature, but is actually keeping it lower. It gets colder as the fabric starts to get moist, which may be a problem for people who have skin problems and can't be in contact with something wet for too long. Imagine a wet washcloth with an ice pack in it.. this is what it feels like. So it is what it is.. for the price, this is what you get if you need actual ice and not evaporation to keep cool.. and it works. Considering the timeline above, if you order the cheap backup ice packs to keep in the freezer, you can be on a constant rotation of having a totally frozen pack if you have the 2 backups.. they freeze fairly quickly, faster than the 2 hours they claim.. and if you really want to you can get two bandanas and let one totally dry when you go to change the ice out.. I'm not sure how they would work in direct sunlight yet.. probably wouldn't stay moist, and may melt a little faster, but it still lasts long enough for what I need it for.. when I need it at all. The only better option may be the Black Ice product that keeps at a constant 50 degree or so temp for a few hours, and doesn't get wet at all.. but it's 50 bucks. I don't need something that much but i'd like to try it sometime. I'm interested in the long cooling time and the 'no fabric' material used that doesn't hold moisture.. this would be top line thing to have.. The only other thing I can mention is you have to consider the negative reviews and the size of the people writing them. People with small necks will write negative reviews saying it doesn't fit. Being a guy with a 16 to 17 inch neck, it fits perfectly.. the last two ice packs sit right up against my neck arteries.. and it's not tight on me even when tightened fully. If you have a smaller neck obviously it won't close fully around your neck.. but you really don't want this anyhow as you don't want to cut off blood flow in the least, especially during exercise.. So for 10 bucks it's good enough for me. The only problem I had is they sent the wrong color.. but Amazon is good about these things and just gave me a refund, they didn't even want it back.. o yeah, another good use is to just forget anyone can actually see you looking like a karate kid throwback and tie the thing around your forehead.. this works amazingly well to keep you cool.. in fact now that i've done it this way, it's my favorite way to wear it to keep cool.

It’s a great way to cool down when experiencing a hot flash! Fits nice around the neck and stays in place. I have 4 of them and they are ready to go anytime.
