I originally look at the 6 and 8 ft long. The description says that it will be 1.25 inches or a little more thick. The offer you different sizes so I chose the 10ft under the impression that the description would match. When the package arrive it was .75 inches thick. they should not offer different length sizes under one same product description if its not going to match the "product description"

Lets start with the amount of filter material you get. I bought the 6ft roll. This is a lot of filter pad for your money. I replace my filter material in my IM Nuvo 20 reef tank every week. I end up cutting a small 2x3 inch square for each of my media baskets. This will last me awhile. I even used some in my Fluval 206 canister filter on my freshwater tank. The material is a soft and not abrasive at all. It was nicely packaged and is a high quality filter material. The material does not split and does not have any fibers or hairs that falls off of it. I have bought filter material before that has broken down in the water column and became a major mess. If your looking for a great media pad, stop here and order this! I will be using Koral Filter material from now on. Thanks for the great product!

Excellent pads, recently my tank slightly yellow and pads also filter out nice but you have to little wait. Allow time to filter your tank Atleast 24hours to 48hours result you will noticed also on pad. My pad collected yellow cloudy color also all waste. I rinsed and reuse same pad again 3 times and trashed later. I’m using this pad to HOB filters AC70 bottom and top of it’s sponge. Also using with Aqueon 20 filter as media with purigen after cloudy tank cleanup so rest water clear. Better than branded media filters cartridges. Fun to modify your filter and clean tank as well.

I have been using an Aquaclear 50 on a 20g long planted tank. Being old school, carbon has been a staple in my fishkeeping world though I have come around to a carbon-less setup. I was battling some floating material in my tank and decided to buy some old school blue/white floss for my tank. In the filler I have an intake sponge, the foam block, two pieces of cut floss, and the bio media. Within a matter of hours I now have a crystal clear tank with pristine water. The first piece does get a bit dirty and usually only lasts a week.Though I am sure you can rinse these and reuse, they do tend to fall apart when rinsing so I just gave up. The mat for sale here should last a more than reasonable amount of time that cutting a new piece will work fine(losing some beneficial bacteria in the change out.)If you want clear water or have a planted tank and want polishing without carbon this is highly recommended.

We use this product to the extreme. We operate a saltwater bait store, dealing in live shrimp and bull minnows. This filter material is stage one on all of our tanks, (350 gallons each) we circulate the water at 550 gallons per hour and this filter media does a fantastic job at removing large and medium particulate debris. A little bit goes a long way too! We rinse the filters 2x a day and they remain in continuous 24 hour operation. 18” of material lasts me 2 weeks before we replace it. That’s a long time if you knew how nasty that many shrimp and minnows can be!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I am comparing this to a brand name fused filter media that I prefer to use. This product is very thin and easily compressed compared to popular brand (PB). It is quite soft. It appears that both the white and blue sides are the same filter media, just different colors, same density and it looks like all one piece where the top was dyed. The PB is obviously 2 seperate pieces fused. The PB is much more dense, increasing its filtering ability. I have to change this product in my tanks 3-4 times a week vs. PB which is 2 times a week.I have included a video. This product is on the left with the lighter blue. The PB is on the right with the darker blue.

Cut this to size to fit your filter and it does a great job of catching all types of debris and assumably, collecting beneficial bacteria.All of my tanks that I use this in have stable water chemistry and clear and clean water.It's also a pretty substantial roll. If you had 10-15 tanks all running hang on back filters, I think this stuff would last you for years!

This was a great deal. Much better than the cartridges you get when you buy the filters. I double the size and fold them and put the bagged carbon between the layers. Works great.
