These bug-bite-burners work!
I have used a handful of these device on mosquito bites and they absolutely work as advertised. This one isn't the worst I've used, but it also isn't my favorite either. The "child mode" doesn't do anything for me. The "adult mode" does, but it gets WAY too hot! I can't use it for the entire 6 seconds that the adult mode runs for. (How about an intermediate temperature setting people?!?!?) And this one just isn't as refined as it could be either. Like the on-off switch... it doesn't say "on" or "off". How hard would it be to print that on the casing? And a long press is required to go into adult mode (child is set default). But after you turn it off, it reverts back to child mode again. It would be nice if it stayed on what you set it on. Maybe that's a safety issue I don't know... it keeps you from accidentally zapping your kid with the hot setting I guess. Although as long as you aren't colorblind, you should know which is which just by the LED ring. Anyway, this one does work. I will keep it as a back-up to the other one I use on regular occasion. I'll probably cry if / when it dies. :P

Some instructions that could actually be understood would be nice
What the point of translating instructions into English if they still make no sense? There is no point. Yet, that's what I see on 90% of instructions nowadays, despite the fact that AI exists and could do a better job. Once you admit defeat and realize that you have to figure out to work this thing yourself, then you'll see that you turn it on, line up the zapper, press the big button, and then it starts and runs for a predetermined amount of time and then beeps and shuts itself off. It's a bit uncomfortable at its hottest, but it's pointless if you don't let it get to that level. Also, it does come with batteries installed, but the dang things have plastic wrap on them, so you have to take them out, remove the plastic, and put them back in. Anyone not paying close attention (I'm raising my hand) wouldn't realize that and would think the zapper just wasn't working properly or that the batteries were dead. I discovered it when I went to change the batteries because I thought I just had duds in mine. Finally, does it work? It does help relieve the itching, so all these other downsides make it worth it in the end.

Seems like decent product
Once you figure it out, it isn't a bad product. Figuring out which way to move the switch based on what you need is a little tricky. It does come with batteries which is a plus but it would be nice if this was a rechargable type item so you don't have to constantly buy batteries for it. It works about the same as most other products like this. It doesn't immediately stop itching but it does help reduce it. It is small enough to take with you if you were to go camping.

Caused more pain, gets way too hot
I honestly don't think this does anything to help alleviate pain or itching from bug bites. The instructions are not all that great, but I used both modes and all this did was cause a stinging feeling that was worse than the original mosquito bite. The little round plate on this device gets too hot and it actually hurts to use. I used this on a mosquito bite on my son's leg and he yelped out that it hurt and then complained that it made his bite feel even worse. Now he's scared of this thing, and I don't blame him. It doesn't work for us, and I would not recommend it.

Confusing directions which could easily be much clearer
This item could have been so much more useful if it came with clear and concise directions. Simple things like labeling the on/off switch would be very useful. Like some other reviewers, I didn't realize that the installed batteries had plastic wrap which needed to be removed in order to operate the device. I was convinced that I had received a "bad" unit. I checked the positive and negative placement of the batteries twice, and still didn't notice the plastic wrap. The directions which are provided are also written in such small font that it's actually very difficult to read the words on the page. After a long frustrating time, I was able to activate the device. It got super warm/hot for a few seconds. Will this truly mitigate the annoyance of bug bites? Not sure. It certainly will distract from the itching while I'm trying to tolerate the extreme heat. This possibly could have been a useful tool to address insects bites, but the presentation and lack of directions make this, at best, a 2 star product.

Meh
This is supposed to provide relief by heating the skin affected by insect bites. I already live in a hot desert where it is regularly above 100 degrees in the summer. This didn't really help much, but it might help others? 3/5 because it did something, but didn't provide the relief I was hoping for.

easy to use - but depending on where the bite is, can be tricky to line up
Operating this is easy enough. It comes with two AAA batteries installed, but you need to remove the plastic shrink wrap around the batteries first.Try to center the ceramic flat piece on the insect bite then press the button to activate the heating element. It'll turn off by itself. There's a slight discomfort when it gets to the top temperature, but it goes away quickly and helps with the itching.

Not Bad
Not bad but not super intuitive either. Little switch you assume is on/off and it is. Then you wonder how to use it. The instructions take a couple of reads to fully understand how it works and what you are supposed to do. Hold the plate against you, hold button for adult mode, it starts automatically, and the beep means it finished (not starting). Works fine. Not an instant relief but lessens the irritation time. They try to cram too much text on the tiny box and instructions, hard to read and some people may need a magnifying glass.
