Very well made and holds all my sketching material. Would buy again but i doubt i will have to due to the quality

About two years ago, I got on this kick where I tried to fashion my own portable sketching and watercolor painting “buddy”. This sketchbook cover reminds me of those endeavors. Because I did go through that episode, I had already spent time and effort thinking and designing things to my own personal taste. That, and the price of this set up is why I deducted one star. I probably would have given the full five stars had there been some cover, some protection along with a zipper, to make sure the entire sketchbook and pencils, etc., were fully covered and closed up. Because as it stands right now, the design on this item has only a belt and buckle type of enclosure, leaving the edges of the sketchbook paper vulnerable to the elements. It is an item that advertises itself as having a water resistant fabric, so I don’t think my opinion is out of line, or illogical. Moreover, I would suggest that they change the design even further to not only include a zippered enclosure, but also a way to accommodate more than one style sketchbook cover. I would up using an old Moleskin sketchbook that I never use to be housed in this. It was the only sketchbook that I had available that fit.Chances are, I may not use this all too much. I do like the inner pocket for the pencils and other items. I was able to fit in quite a few things there. Also, the sleeves that are meant to tuck and secure the sketchbook cover was ample enough to also house some small sheets of water color paper. For $32, I’d probably choose a sketchbook cover with a zippered enclosure, a little more versatility and a slightly more versatile design.

I didn’t open my package and put it somewhere in the basement (early Christmas shopping)open it and found mold. Can’t prove if it was them or where I stored it. Do check it when you get it esp if your package was in rain.

This sketchbook holder has a very nice, sturdy cover and provides space for a 6 X 8" sketchbook and a box of colored pencils or pens. The sketchbook and pencils are not included, but bought separately. This was given as a gift to an artist, who thought it was a "Cool" gift.

Came within 2 days, opened right when it arrived and mold all over

This sketchbook cover with pencil storage is well made. The waxed canvas fabric is smooth and the stitching has no gaps, puckers or loose ends. Being waxed, the canvas fabric will show scratches and distress marks, but is also very durable. It holds a 5.5"×6.5" sketchbook snugly on one side and approximately eighteen pencils on the other. A pocket behind the pencils can hold a few small, flat items. I like the flap covering the pencils. It protects exposed lead and keeps the pencils contained. The only issue I had with this sketchbook cover is the synching strap to hold the cover together. It doesn't hold tightly, you can easily pull the front and back apart. Possibly adding velcro dots along it's length would help. I think this would be a welcome gift to artists.

Nice brown color, slightly (intentionally, I think) pre-battered. It let water bead up on it and wasn't wet when I wiped it away, so it's that waterproof; not sure how well it would handle sitting in, say, a wet bag, or a puddle. The latch is interesting, not sure how well it will hold - the metal hook into canvas loop is fine, but the sliding canvas strap that tightens it against the contents of the cover seems to slide very easily with nothing inside. It's a bit more solid with a sketchbook installed. It has a very good pocket for a side-bound medium size sketchbook (5x8 or just over); no way to put a top-bound sketchpad in (unless it's less than 5 inches and goes in sideways). The pencil pocket with flap is reasonably useful, though I'm not sure why it's diagonal - at the top end, I'm going to have to fish down inside to retrieve a pencil. Maybe that's why there's the oval window - that and showing you which color you want to pull out. There's another flat pocket behind the pencils, same size and shape as the one for the back of the sketchbook; you could put both covers in (though the first page of the sketchbook would then be taking the pressure of the pencil pocket), or keep something flat like extra paper in there. I don't see any place where scissors, pencil sharpener, or eraser could be kept (despite the pictures on the website). I'll store those in a separate bag. Looks good, probably useful but not ideal.
