Great quality product
I've never had a problem with the quality of this product and have bought 6 times over several years. It is delicious and such a wonderful addition atop a warm scone with jam. Remember to stir before using.

Arrived Damaged
Arrived damaged. Jar was sticky due to product leakage. Security Bubble in the jar lid was popped up, indicative of damage and spoilage.

Read the Bottle! It's shelf stable unopened!
The reviews on this product are largely unfair. As long as the bottle is unbroken and sealed, separation is to be expected. Stir it! Refrigerated delivery is unnecessary. In the UK, double cream is often found in the pantry aisles rather than in the chilled dairy (same for eggs). Clotted cream, however, is normally found by the butter. It really depends on the way it's packaged. Please READ the bottle. It clearly says separation is normal and that it has a long shelf life unopened. I attached a picture. That said, no one wants to eat warm cream so I keep mine chilled once delivered because I use it on baked goods. As a very expensive coffee creamer, I suppose warm would be fine - but it's thick. Use double cream as you would whipped unsweetened heavy cream. I spread it on baked goods. Photo 3 shows the product spread on my homemade Eccles cakes. I recently returned from the UK and brought back Rodda's clotted cream. It's a different product. There's a crust on top and it tastes like, well, solid or "clotted" cream. LOL Think light textured butter. No sweet, no salt, no tang, no fatty residue. Photo is attached for comparison purposes. This brand is not vacuum sealed so it requires refrigeration. Oddly enough, I like it less than bottled double or clotted cream. Double cream is like American heavy whipping cream that's been perfectly whipped. In Scotland, there is an even thicker version that's called extra thick double cream. It's exquisite. I haven't found it in the States. I've had this double cream delivered warm and separated. I stirred it up and it was wonderful. I've also bought it in the pantry aisles both in the UK and on site at Whole Foods pre-Amazon acquisition. This time it was delivered chilled by Amazon/Whole Foods. Zero difference. It's outrageously overpriced no matter where you buy it in America. In the UK, it's about £4.

Ode to warm sour cream: weird to this American but feels authentic
Devon cream sits soft and slow, Golden where the cool winds blow, Thick as silence, rich as light, Folded into morning white. Like sour cream left by the fire, Gentled, warmed to something higher, Tang made mellow, edges sweet, Silk and sun and pasture meet. Not so sharp, yet still it sings, Of quiet fields and grazing things— A softened echo, deep and warm, Of something once a little torn.

Disappointed
So, so disappointed. First jar we opened was leaking and was stinky, rancid. Next two were curdled and 4th didn’t look good either. I was wanting to serve this Devon double cream with my strawberries at my Downton tea party. And please don’t anyone tell me that if you shake them, cool them they’ll be fine! I’m a British expat and know my “creams!” I’d advise anybody thinking of buying this that they give it a miss! Too many negative reviews which I wish I’d listened to!! Oh, I happened to find it at a British Shop for $3 less!!
