This is a great little system. Simple set-up, decent picture quality, reasonably priced. I'm satisfied with it and I'd recommend it to others who need a system with only a few cameras. 5 stars!

I was hoping to use this to expand my home security system beyond the 8-cam Reolink system I already have (and am already using all channels of). This system runs a bit cheaper than an equivalent Reolink setup but unfortunately it's just not worth it in my opinion. The worst of it is the "5MP" cameras which have significantly worse picture quality than I expected (and significantly worse than a similar 5MP Reolink camera I have). It may save the files as 5MP but everything is incredibly blurry, even just 20 feet from the camera. I don't think you'd be able to read a stationary license plate from much more than 15 feet away, let alone a moving one. The other big complaint I have is the wiring choice. Instead of using power-over-ethernet like many other home security systems, they have clunky premade wiring with separate power and video-feed connectors at each end. With a PoE system, you could run wires with cat6 cabling and only have to drill ~1/4" diameter holes everywhere and post-install the RJ connectors at each end, but with the cables that come with this that's not an option so you'll have to drill 1/2"+ diameter holes everywhere and try to fish the connectors through them which will want to get stuck. This isn't an issue if you're only running wires through an unfinished space like an attic but if you want to conceal them in walls or behind finished framing it will be considerably more challenging. The NVR is fine, it feels like an NVR from 20 years ago in terms of the interface so it takes a bit of learning to find everything, but it does the job. The included hard drive (3TB) has about 2.7TB available which is fine, and it operates fairly quietly so no major complaints there. If you need a 4-camera system and can't afford a more expensive option, this does do the job, but know that the camera quality is significantly worse than competitors 5MP cameras and that running the wire may be a bit of additional headache.
