Is the Gaiam chair height adjustable?

No. It’s on a fixed base. Base is not strong enough for everyday use. I used it as an office chair and it broke at the weld after 6 months

is this item returnable with a full refund if not satisfied?

No. I’m stuck with this thing and totally upset with this purchase. Paid a lot of money for absolutely the biggest piece of junk.

It looks like most of the bad reviews for this chair came a year or more ago. I'm wondering if anyone who purchased it in 2020 have had it break?

Yes- mine broke while I was sitting on it. It broke at the weld it appears. Purchased Aug of 2020 and it broke June 2021.

I am 6'1 and I used to work a gym that had these chairs not as fancy.. would this fit some that doesn't look like a child chair?

I believe it would fit. However the welding on the base is flimsy. I am 5’6 150 lb and my husband rewelded it 2 times in less than a year. I was using this and a stand up desk, so it’s not as well made as it could be
